If there is no God, I would like to create one. I would call it Mother nature. For she has more power than man. We can compromise with Mother nature, but when mother nature tires of man, she reaks havoc. Tornadoes, tsunamies, earthquakes, giant melon hail storms. But I believe there is a God. Mother Nature is a servant of the all mighty. It is a case of believe and you have nothing to lose. Even if you believe in private. You don't have to confess. Infact, Jesus said, "one should find a solitary place to pray to the Lord. " (Or something like that. You get the jist) The Bible is like an a-z of life. It gives us morals and actually is the foundation of the Justice system. I don't think we should stone people to death. But the bible does suggest, An eye for an eye. Get the Good News bible, it makes perfect sense than the old Latin/greek version. Infact, you will be surprised. But I aint preaching. Man can go two ways. Live life without God, or live with God. If there is no God, we won't know till we die.
Im curious why you spell it with a 'd'? all though i suppose it is curious why the west pronounces it with a 'd' and spells it with a 'T' the way is offended by your spelling
There is alot to be said for 'Justice'... it certainly isn't 'fair' or what most of us would consider 'Just'. a 'Justice system' is system to keep things running.
the only thing nature demands of man is that we don't park our fat dumb ignorant arrogant assess in the way of it. floods only happen in low lying areas. and all the other risks blamed on it come from people parking their fat buts where it is illogical to do so. as for the sacred scriptures of any belief, they are human ink on human paper. not one word of that of christianity written by the hand of any of its god's choosen channelers themselves, but only the second hand hearsay of their contemporary scribes. and not all of it even that. we do NOT "know" what there is or isn't. nor is their any guarantee, even in death or beyond it that we ever will. all those names fanatics are so emotionally attatched to, however wonderful they might otherwise be, are only lables, invented by humans, for things none of us have the slightest idea about and probable never will. it isn't that every possibility ever considered isn't a real one, rather it is that there is an infinity of them, and only and infantisimally small number of them, as every number compaired to infinity ever is, have ever even begun being considered. yes i believe there are other 'rooms' in this house called univierse, and other 'people' in them, adults compared to our childhood in this nursury called a solar system, in which our crib called earth is located. but to pretend to know what is not known is quite simply lying, and even christianity condems that. =^^= .../\...
Bird does have a point, the Atheist is just as convinced they can disprove 'God' as any religion is convinced that 'God' does indeed exist. It is to take a position at the expense of truth, mainly the truth that there are things we do not know.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it is idiotic until you fight others thinking you know more than they do. ...If a concept brings someone comfort, then all the power to them
WTF.. HOW is atheism a religion? What exactly has been "sold" to me? Bitter and Hateful people, oh really? How do you figure? I know a ALOT of people that lack a belief in god(s) that are atheists, and they are some of the nicest people I've ever meet. Could it be you don't know many atheists? THEN, you make an assertion that you believe in a higher power, and the only evidence you claim to have is subjective personal experiences.. even if that is true, there still is a problem, who/what created that "higher power"..?
That assumes that idiocy and agression are mutually inclusive, which is different from saying agression is idiotic.
Why is it idiotic at all to believe in something? I am in no way insinuating they are mutually inclusive, but only that there are ways to be idiotic about what you believe.... Why do we care what others believe? I dont get it.
That still has nothing to do with how atheism is "idiotic".. just people defending their positions. We are not out to disprove your god(s), although some might. We just lack the belief in a god(s), just as you prolly lack belief in the greek sun gods. And the reason is based on evidence, there is NONE. Although I am willing to change my opinion, when objective evidence is present.
Ofcourse people can believe whatever the fuck they want. We have that freedom and I believe we should practise it. I am just saying that to me personally I think any belief is idiotic because they are all just fairytales for grown-ups. Now do you believe in the easter bunny?
