I like China, but that attitude drives me nuts - the dick measuring contest to see who has gone more native. Bleh.

It seems odd to lump all Asians together in one group. They are way too diverse to say that you "prefer" them. For that matter, Chinese culture varies from region to region, and same is true for Japanese, Thai, Philippine groups, etc...

I have had stimulating conversations with some women with Asian heritage, but I have certainly met individuals from one of these interesting cultures whose unpleasant personality was a show stopper. Others would have been definite prospects for wedded bliss.

A lot of hippies like Thai culture because of the mellowing influence of their brand of Buddhism. That's not to give every Thai a pass, they have their share of people who "don't get it", but all in all, a more pleasant experience than a visit to Malaysia, for instance.

You have read the truth, my friend. When I see the breasts of those Turkish moms, I just want to burry my face into their knockers and squeeze them either side of my face until I cannot breathe any longer, twirl their gigantic nipples into my mouth like great big lolly pops, bite and suck all the juice out of them until I have twice of my body weight consisting of mother’s milk.

You’re describing the oldest form of vampirism; the suckling of the breast in order to satisfy hunger [IMG]

    Not lumping them all together.

While the cultures are indeed diverse and I do know the differences between them, having travelled extensively through Asia. What I am saying is I have found as a whole, people from Asian countries to be really attractive, I prefer Asian food to Western food (except for Taiwanese). Of course this is not saying that every single Asian person in the world is amazing - I have met some shockers, too.

I find it strange you were surprised to meet Asians with bad personalities? Were you expecting them all to be similar?

Not surprised, I don't have expectations of good or bad, seems that people everywhere have the full run of personality types.

By "show stopper" I meant that she was so wrong for me that it was clear that I didn't need to take her out again. Our differences "stopped the show" so to speak. But I have met a charming Thai girl now living in the USA who was so pleasant to be with, I felt instant chemistry & wish that my circumstances had not taken me far away. I didn't like her simply because she was Thai, but because she was so intelligent, upbeat, and very attractive and some intangible thing that sometimes draws men and women together when they both have that special something???

The only thing I know about them is they’re moving into my neighborhood and in great numbers, whereas just 10 years ago those yellow bellied sapsuckers were nowhere in sight [IMG]

I admit those 19-20 year old asian girls jogging around the neighborhood are great eye candy but that’s it :(

The reason their moving here is because it’s a nice community and ideally situated between Portland Maine and Boston Massachusetts :2thumbsup:

    Hotwater,

I have moved because a neighborhood changed.
Airport noise increased in one place.
    Crime drastically increased in another.
Traffic got worse and my commute got longer in a third place.

There are areas where change is slow and manageable,
rapid change is stressful and often makes us feel that our neighborhood no longer exists in any meaningful way.

It is one thing to have a girlfriend of Thai ancestry and who bring some of the best of Thai culture into the relationship. It is another thing to live in an all-Thai neighborhood to the point that you find yourself missing some of the culture that you grew up with.
I get what you are saying. But lashing out with the "Yellow-bellied sapsucker" comment may express your anger for the moment, but it does you more harm in the long run because when you call everyone who is different from you some kind of annoying bird, you actually have turned yourself into an annoying bird.

Don't be an annoying bird, try being a migratory bird and find a new home where you can live in peace among birds of a feather. I know you can get to a point in life where you don't want to move, but really what choice do you have?

I think you’re taking my expression of anger way too seriously. I can get along with the yellow man but they do suddenly seem to be everywhere
