nope, threw my razors away about 5 years ago, and i feel definatly sexier for it. sure i get some odd looks, sure i need to wash my pits a couple times a day on the hot ones..but who care!! if it grows, i let it. the best thing is that i live in a community where it is more abnormal and unnatural to take a blade to the hairs. which is nice. i love it, and i love breaking outta the mold of the "typical" woman
i used to shave every day...don't shave much anymore. for some strange reason, despite having dark brown hair on my head, my leg/armpit hair is very light and nearly invisible. not worth the extra time and razor burn for the most part.
well.. since my leg hair is LIGHT LIGHT blonde, i hardly ever shave there, but i do occasionally. my armpit hair, yes, i shave it.. i dont know.. it just feels uncomfortable if i dont but hey, props to the people who dont shave! i think it looks nice, too!
I kinda like my own smell, but I don't like the hair, so I shave. Except if I am too lazy, and don't want to spend to much time in the shower
you know, when your "scent" is fairly fresh, it's nice. but after sitting around in humid pit hair, it gets nasty.
My best friend is the same way. She's never had underarm hair a day in her life. I'm jealous. I get rid of mine. If I don't it feels poke-y and uncomfortable.
don't expect a decent rebuttal from that one. ^ sidheister, do you thinkthat when we become part of a community that does not value shaved skin that we really are breaking the mold? Or making a new one? I guess after so long, I don't see it as revolutionary, but simply me. Could be an incipient old fart thing, too. for a giggle: www.angelfire.com/music/hooperchick
I shave... only cuz as soon as the hair starts growin back i get all itchy and uncomfortable. but hey more power to ya if you dont shave.
thanks soo much drumming mama!! you have articulated something which i have felt for a long time, and i would have to agree. you are right in addressing these so called "molds" as temporary, and of course the vanity has a small timeframe in all of humanity. by not shaving we are more part of the mold, because that is how we were ultimatly designed. good article too. i am very much a realist, and i can be very at ease with the choices that others make on their path. me, i choose to be natural, to not fight the inevitable. but that is me, and i am glad that we all dont make the same choices! rock on furry sistas~
If others can't accept the fact that you like to keep your body as mother nature made you, f*** 'em! Don't succomb to fashion or 'custom'. It's your body and you have to be comfortable with it. If you're lucky to have a lover who admires your natural beauty, you've got it made! Moreover, by going natural, you'll also be less likely to have razor burn and skin rashes. You'll also have a less cluttered bathroom and save more time in the shower. Take some advice fron the entries included below as well as those from drumminmama and aeshna. FTR, I pretty much agree with aeshnna's post. Wash, don't depilate! I admire your spirit! It's too bad more women are not like you. ...Classic example of what I was talking about above. The only thing is that female facial hair is a sign of hirsutism, which is not a normal condition. If you choose to, you may want to consult a (preferrably holistic) physician on how to stop this condition.
