Once again, right on the point. They aren't bad for personal protection either.

Most people are unarmed as it is. What is stopping the government from taking over right now as we speak and oppressing everyone under martial law??? If the government wanted to subdue and oppress anyone, they have legitimate authority to do so as long as they abide the rule of law. the government has the right to hurt you.

If you were taught to believe otherwise or that some way it can happen differently or that you as a person are exempt from government authority, then you are living in a dream. The goverment doesn't need to overthrow people armed or unarmed. They already have the power to.

That just reinforces the need for personal protection. More and more government agencies are not abiding by the rule of law, or the laws are being changed behind closed doors and without disclosure. We still have a constitution of sorts here in the US, there are some of us willing to be patriots in it's defense.

    Patriots, eh?

Would it be un-Patriotic if I said "Fuck the US Constitution"?

I don't even pretend to think I'll be able to defend myself from the government. Look at ruby ridge... sure he was a white supremacist but what happened was still bs. Guns didn't help him any. The state of the government is totally fucked up, but thats not why im gonna carry.

I had a cousin that got shot, he lived but he was damned lucky. The woman who shot him had something wrong with her mind, idk what but when they asked her why she did it she said it was because she didn't like the color blue (he was in a blue truck).

There are alot of people who go through there lives without anything happening to them, and I'm not afraid. But I like to hedge my bet :)

I don't know about un-patriotic, though I can easily picture Bush muttering those exact same words.

After all, it is Bush who said that the Constitution is "nothing more than a goddamn piece of paper."

    I really despise that man.

Anyway, I wish the US Constitution was mostly worth defending. But I feel like its entirety is kind of a dumbed down old clunker mess. Put it out of its misery or get it reupholstered and buff it up.

i think it was intended to be dumbed down..
i think the founding fathers wrote it as such to make it clear that those things and those things only the federal government had power over, the rest was left up to the states..

its only because the feds have trampled it to death that it seems antiquated and a mess..

I totally agree, and perhaps they should have stated it even more simply, so that there would be no confusion as to it's meaning amongst attorneys, power mongers and profiteers.

I still find truth, honesty and foresight in it every time I read it. It is one of the most powerful documents of all time. It ranks only second in history to the Magna Carta. And I rank it (Magna Carta) first only because of it's timing. Many of it's sentiments are far less compelling than those of the US constitution, and focussed in depth on many issues that were specific to that time only.

Add to it our Preamble, and Declaration of Independence and there are few documents in history that hold a candle to what our early founders set down as a basis for a fair and democratic governance. Leaving open options for change and modernization.

randy weaver never had any affiliation with richard butler's aryan nations. he was a separatist, but it was mostly based off of his religious convictions more so than anything else.
