i seriously doubt studying will do you much good.

don't know much about the SAT, but i had a good friend who studied his ass off for the ACT, took it 5 or so times, and still never did as good as his first try (which was still embarrassingly bad).

technically, it's a cultural norm to study for every stupid test you are given, and you still do well above average without studying for those i would assume. and hell, if you do fuck it up you can always take it again and toss out your original score.

i kind of felt like you for the ACT, and i did kind of fuck it up, but i still did good enough for the scholarship i was going for so i saw no reason to bother taking it again.

 

Honestly, I don't even know how to study.

I just absorb the information.

 

What were your SAT scores?

I got a 700 in math and a 650 in verbal and writing. However, I like to blame it on the fact that I pulled an all-nighter that day and couldn't concentrate. I got a 2150 on a practice test!

 

I didn't study but I did take the PSAT. You never took that?

took that 99th percentile, got TONS of junk mail from colleges.

didn't even know what day it was scheduled for, signed up just so I could have a day out of taking classes except theater.

 

yeah, i really only know how to study for memorization tests (like name the first 25 presidents or something like that).

i was always stumped when people claimed they were going off to study for an aptitude test...

or worse, "i have to study for my math test..." WTF!?

I always preferred the physical tests myself, I found them more gratifying.

 

PSAT was required for us...

it didn't even occur to me that my piles of college junk mail were due to that specific test; i assumed colleges just sent out tons of shit to everyone in hopes that a couple idiots got excited and went to those colleges...

i'm not saying that there aren't intelligent people here i just find it funny that this same thread has appeared numerous times and no one ever admits to being average or below average, it's always "yeah i'm super smart"

 

studying for a math test SHOULD be like studying for a language test.

There were a few people that admitted to being average. The majority of people that admitted to being smart, were smart.

I suspect that some of the people who think they are geniuses are not, but they are still really smart.
