they need a membership large enough to support the organization how much money you can get out of each person is an important factor.
your recent pictures were certainly not disappointing, but this mysterious dragonvine noob stole the show, and my heart...
I didn't take it for school. My parents wanted me to take it. It's not very common. But online tests are, though I'm inclined to believe they're innacurate since I got a 129 on one and 171 on another.
Schools still do these kinds of tests though, to see where you are at for your age level compared to everyone else in the school/state/country, they just don't call it an IQ test. We had the GAP, same thing basically, just the questions are more open, they weren't just multiple choice. But I did a philosophy of thinking subject, and they gave us an IQ test for that, and the meyers-briggs type indicator test.
I never took one. I took a longer, segmented test with three different sections: Oral, Mathematics and Abstract reasoning. At the time it was the best test around, supposedly. Oral - I scored within the top 7% of people my age (I give great head) Mathematics - 27% Abstract reasoning - 15% So technically in every 100 people my own age, there are 7 who are better at English, 27 who are better at maths and 15 who are better at philosophy. Above average, but there are always people smarter than me.
online ones are clearly bullshit designed to make you feel good enough about yourself to pay $40 for an analysis of your intelligence... but yeah, before i came on HF, i never ever heard of one single person in our general age bracket who had ever taken an IQ test, and basically everyone just said that they were outdated and no one really took them anymore. yet somehow i'm the only person on this site that hasn't taken one, in most cases specifically for school. i understand if your parents made you take it; i'm sure that does happen fairly often. but i still don't believe that everyone's parent's made them take it as a prerequisite to joining hipforums, so something doesn't entirely add up...
it's the internets! the internets are for lying. But yeah, I have heard about them being outdated and all. It obviously only analyzes a small portion of your overall intellect. What about the SAT? Who has taken that? I had to take the new SAT, I was actually in the very first group that did.
i want to grow dreadlocks just as an excuse to talk to her. :svengo: the two types of tests described above were much closer to what i experienced as well. but i still wouldn't call it an IQ test online, or make up a random score that would make sense in an IQ test just to make it easier to read for the online audience.
i took the PSAT if that counts... (it doesn't, but there were a couple TV shows where they pretended it did for some reason).
I need to take the SAT. but I'm not taking it until I both understand the mechanism of it and am "warmed up" as from what I understand it's a cultural norm to study for the SAT and though I've never studied for a test, it seems like I should study for this one to avoid being at a disadvantage.
Because we are? Disregarding how I feel about myself, there are smart people here. Stop being a whiny killjoy plz.
go fuck your mother oedipus we do not have those types of testing in canada, each province has different standards of education
Dunning-Kruger Effect. And, on the other end, actually knowing you are. I don't know everything, but it would be silly of me to say I'm below average, I'd be lying, I know it's not true.
