Well, I had long hair at one time, got called a hippy a lot then too. I like to believe I share the same ideals as the Idea of 'hippy'. I have my foibles, as do we all. No one is 'perfect', but is there a perfect hippy? back to the question...So would I call myself a hippy? sure why not, makes enough sence to me anyway. I enjoy the female form so I must also say, "yeah I likes the naked pictures of the ladies"
if you ask any of my friends, they would say that im a hippie.......but i don't label myself as anything.......i think its best to be free of labels and stereotypes
i say seriously that I am a freak. I say jokingly that I'm a, or the, "hippy." I have "f&%&^$n hippie" yelled at me (note the spelling difference?) I'm married to a psychedelic artist. I'm a photog who is developing a psychedelic live painting style. I write for a living. Veg 23 years. wide background in religions and social movements. I didn't ask for the label, but I do accept it.
I have been what one calls a "hippy" forever. I was raised in the counterculture of the 60's, during the 80's I strayed....I joined the yuppie/me me me/nicest house in the nicest neighborhood/new car/best job etc etc...I hated it, too much trouble keeping up with the Joneses. I did some soul searching and came back home.
I thought I outgrew being a hippie but I see I'm still loving it. We had a 60's and 70's day at school and I went all out for it and what not and people gave me high fives and complimented and all that stuff. Many said it really suits me and I told them that I always think I was born at the wrong time. I really think I was since everything of that era fits me. I'll post a pic of me when I was dressed up for those two days....
