I am no rasta. I find even their philosophy is filled with some lies. But their intentions are good. I will bow before no man or god. I have all respect for our creator, whomever this may be. If it is legal to eat animals, torturing them as they die, it should be legal to eat humans. IMO and I do not eat meat and will never.
Nope. Methodist Christian, but I have read up on Rastafarian religion and it seems interesting. I'm not close minded by any means. I think learning about other religions is enlightening and interesting.
Rasta isnt a religion and its also not called 'rastafarianISM' because ism's arent a good thing. To the two posters above me ^^
i could look any way i wanted and still know the same things about rasta. If the fish had shut its mouth, it wouldnt have got caught.
ism's are generally not accepted in rasta because of 'faschism, racism, materialism, consumerism' and those are all bad, there are very few 'isms' that are good compared with 'isms' that are bad. So instead of Rastafarianism its just seen as Rastafari, Rasta or Rastafarian. The same way babylon uses the words 'understand' and rasta use 'overstand' because understanding sounds negative even though its infact positive, whats the point of words like that? for example 'history' is broken up into his-story and we are taught to accept what 'he' tells us as 'his-story' for fact in school etc... Whereas my-story is actually 'mystery' and as you know, mysterys are unexplainable and cant be trusted. So through babylon language you are being forced to accept what 'they' tell you rather then believe your own explanation. Rasta dont use Babylon words that much. Does this answer your question?
I speak patois when i am around rastafari or patois speakers, the same way i speak english around english speakers, or french to french speakers. Anything else?
You should include the option -No, but agree with many of their thoughts on life, just not the belief aspect (ie. haile selassie, God etc....) I myself am not "Rastafarian" due to the fact that I do not believe in their notion of God, although I don't doubt it is a possibility. I do however love their beliefs on Babylon (materialism) and how we must strive to stay away from it in order to be richeous. I also love how they don't believe in temples/churches as the body is their temple. The only times they gather for religious purposes are at groundations and nayabingis. And even then it's not really their "main focus." At groundations they get together, usually in smaller groups smoke ganja and discuss things of importance in the world, primarily politics. A nayabingi is a large gathering in which they smoke ganja, eat lots of food and dance to none other than the traditional reggae.
