Yeah man. I know what you mean. I am thankful I didn't grow up with money, but I wouldn't mind having some right now. It sucks donkey being poor:( but it's better than being some spoiled bitch with everything they could ever want, whom thinks they're a thug or what have you. Fake "gangstas" can suck a toe, for all I care....fuck'em.

As someone that has both had money and been seriously broke in their lifetime, I can tell you money really does not buy happiness.

I'm comfortable right now, but I'm not less happy than when I was a big earner; I'm happier, in fact. An element of poverty can teach one real life lessons, and what is really important to one.

Your right, but those lessons one would learn in life are sometimes blocked because of the constant torture that some of these kids go through, ive seen a little bit as a kid, but no where friggin near other people, i just imagine the shit ive been through X20 for other kids, and the shit ive been through X20 i believe will block any sense of life lessons because of the contant sorrow, sadness, fear, and images these people have to go through. I mean are you really thinking about the future when your 'parents' shoot up heroin and rail coke right in front of you, a dad that abuses your mom and all u fucking can do is watch, a dad that gets drunk and thinks its ok the fuck you up for no reason, a dad that fucks other woman all night, a mom that you have to try your best to protect for the safety of both of you...etc. The shit i just mentioned i believe will make any child scared for life and live a life of crime and violence.

I understand that; my last post wasn't really abouit this, it was simply about money, but anyway....

I know only too well the causes of the apathy among our youth, and would gladly help any initiative designed to target them.

What does concern me is your last sentence; there are two things I want to say about it.
    1. Not every kid that grows up this way will turn out bad; some have exceptionally strong characters, and will be smart enough to move away from that sorrt of life. I realise these are the exception, rather than the rule.

    2. 'Scarred for life' is not a phrase in my vocabulary. With the right treatment and assistance, anyone can get over more or less anything. Psychology works for most of these people to great effect; they are certainly not terminal cases, and to imply that they are does them no good. These are kids that have been made to feel worthless all their lives in many cases; exactly what a counsellor or dr would try and steer them away from.

For the record, if you all saw me now, and the way I live, you'd probably never believe some of the things I have been through. A bad upbringing can be handled one of two ways; you either do the 'sins if the father' bit, and live your life every bit as badly, or you take control and say, 'I'm not going to grow up like that person'. It isn't easy, but it can be done, and it gives one all the power back that they lost to their tormentors over the years.
