If you're going to use examples in history to back your point you need to at least get your history right. Hitler did no such thing.

Well, I don't project it on every american of course. It was a stereotypical generalisation as we often see in such threads but with most if not all stereotypes and generalisations they are heavily based on reality... but used often and then taken out of context/are exaggerated. This is also true for verminous plague's quote but that doesn't mean it makes no sense at all. A lot of people are witnessing a gadget-horny and selfish society that primarily seem to care about their own standard of living which in the end is not sustainable in the way it is maintained now. This is the american way since at least half a century and not only the american way anymore since the whole western/first world is wallowing in this kind of capitalistic luxury over the back of large parts of the 3rd world (profiting of their cheap labour, getting their raw resources, etc.).

Throughout his life, Adolf Hitler had never been able to admit a single mistake or accept responsibility for any failure. And as the thousand-year Reich he founded teetered on the brink of collapse in early 1945, he blamed it on the weakness of the German people.

it will be better to destroy these things ourselves, because this nation will have proved to be the weaker one and the future will belong solely to the stronger eastern nation. Besides, those who will remain after the battle are only the inferior ones, for the good ones have all been killed."

So, in other words, he didn't say what you originally claimed he did. ie that the Germans were too liberal and not right-wing enough.

For the record, he ultimately blamed the Jews for Germany's defeat, at least according to Traudl Junge

Hitler is sig's hero, because he was infallible, like sig thinks he is.

Not according to the woman who recorded his last testament. Regardless, he didn't say what you originally claimed he did.

So Hitler is my hero now?

There's no collapse happening anytime soon. People have neen saying things like that for longer than any of us have been around. Did you all think the world was going to end in Y2K? How about in 2012? People have thought the world was going to end for as long as there have been people, just as people have thought america was doomed since 1776...

People need to research more than "news" sources...

Yeah, wannabe prophets have been predicting the end for thousands of years. But it's a fact that someday the sun will burn out, and one of those wannabe's will eventually be right.

I'm not sure why anyone would think that ANY situation humans can imagine, would not be subjected to entropy. If not now--sometime. I believe everything comes and goes in it's time and that certainly includes our pitiful little existences.

Within the context of OP's question---sure. The US is not working as designed except for a portion of it's citizens, which eventually leads to --an end.

I can't help but be intrigued by what's on the other side. Like what happened when the cops killed the Navy yard shooter. Were those 12 he killed waiting for him? Did they say, "Hey, thanks buddy, I really like it here."? Or did God(or whatever) let them spiritually torture him? So many possibilities. Maybe he was instantly reincarnated into...uh...a leper? So many possibilities.

I'm writing a book about an American soldier that dies in Iraq by a roadside bomb, and becomes a ghost wandering the desert over there. And all the others that died in that war are ghosts too, including the insurgents and Iraqi civilians.

It's kinda like all the ghosts wandering around here in West Virginia, and all the other Civil War states, from that war. There are many sightings of these ghosts, especially at famous battlefields. My wife thinks she's seen a few in our back yard.

Hollywood explores some of these possibilities, with movies like GHOST, and WHAT DREAMS MAY COME.
There's a new show on tv called SLEEPY HALLOW about ghosts, Icabaud Crane and the headless horseman. I get a kick out of this shit.

Nah, dude, nah! You should write a book about Obama, and the UNDENIABLE FACT, that all Republicans and Conservatives are biasing the media.

Off topic, but Sleepy Hallow isn't about ghosts.

Film: The majority of it was actually ghostwritten by Sir Tom Stoppard. :p

"The dominant spirit, however, that haunts this enchanted region, and seems to be commander-in-chief of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback, without a head. It is said by some to be the ghost of a Hessian trooper, whose head had been carried away by a cannon-ball, in some nameless battle during the Revolutionary War, and who is ever and anon seen by the country folk hurrying along in the gloom of night, as if on the wings of the wind. His haunts are not confined to the valley, but extend at times to the adjacent roads, and especially to the vicinity of a church at no great distance ... the body of the trooper having been buried in the churchyard, the ghost rides forth to the scene of battle in nightly quest of his head, and that the rushing speed with which he sometimes passes along the Hollow, like a midnight blast, is owing to his being belated, and in a hurry to get back to the churchyard before daybreak. ”
—Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

Right, but in the TV series rj is referring to Crane isn't a ghost, and neither is the Horseman treated as a ghost.
