I don't think you understand what open-minded is. It doesn't mean believing anything you hear. It means that if something challenges your beliefs, you are open to thinking you might be wrong. You consider the new evidence (if any) and if you determine it to be credible, you change your mind. Religious zealots never change their minds.

They make sense to me but that's because I extend the effort to understand somebody who speaks a distinct language. But I'm primed for it .. I notice people's individual tongue .. their grammatical structure .. very easily.

We all speak English here but each *differently* .. almost to the point of speaking different languages altogether.
