i have experienced the same thing as the op, but every now and then i connect with someone. there are good people in the world. people who have their own minds and like to keep it that way. i would love to live in a freak nation though. or even a freak village. it would be nice to experience that kind of validation every day. but i guess it just isn't meant to be. we're all so scattered. i've been looking at intentional communities alot, but they all seem to require so much money to join.
Nah... nobody's weird or a freak. Everybody on this world is an individual, and no two individuals are the same! So we're all different. There are just some people who can't understand that so easily, and find it strange to meet people who look at the world from another perspective than they do. And because of that, they will think you're abnormal (and maybe you will think that THEY are the abnormal ones), while in reality all of us are normal... just different!
That's not completely true! What about the children who dress all in black and cut their hair the same and bye it black and guys wear girly pants and you can't tell the difference between a male and female? What about them? And all the popular students at my school also seem to look the same, and they all act the same, loud and obnoxious...so it's not completely true.
Yes, these people share a youth culture, does that make them all the same? I am talking about the human psyche here, not the way people choose to dress or act, which is only a very, VERY small part of it. The human mind is too complex a thing to be exactly the same in two people. Of course you can find plenty of people who tend to think in a generally similar direction as you do on quite a few topics, but nobody else but you has all the same opinions, principles, wishes, dreams, personality traits and eccentricities as you have (which is pretty neat, really). Not even your soulmate, if you're so lucky to have one. Obviously I'm not claiming absolute truth, just what I think based on my contact with people. But it might as well be correct. Also, I'm sorry you felt like you have to drag those emo kids into this in a negative way especially seeing what this thread was started about: lack of acceptance.
i've never minded being called a weirdo or an oddball.....even been called an eccentric on national TV......what that means to me is that i am not a little lemming ,a monkey see monkey do ,if you like ...i am not a leader but i sure as hell ain't a follower ...a lot of people say they are their own free selves but tend to do exactly as others do and dress and act ........don't believe me??well the next time you see bikers who proclaim freedom, look at how they dress and act...weekend warriors ...conformity ......hell with that ..be damned if i dress like a clown to conform to be accepted ...i dress and act to please myself ..not others
i can truely not understand "normal" people's morals and values. i dont even think im weird, i look at other people and think they are weird. The fact is people have not assessed their sorroundings enough and they dont always seek the truth, they just believe what is presented to them. We are on a higher level of morality than many of these people. We question everything and judge things based on the effect on people and the environment. im not saying we are better than other people, im saying we have a greater respect for LIFE. arg im trying so hard to put my thoughts into words but i feel i still havent done it
haha now thats a good explanation, but dont forget psychopathic & murderous as most will kill anything thats not human just because its there. i watch my mom go psycho when she sees a bug and get the raid out... i ususally have to swoop in and save its life cause of it. killing dont help anything. if you kill everything around you, then what's left to look at? Bad Karma, no doughnut.
Yea, my wife saw her brother go postal on a bee in the kitchen.. she the harder she pleaded with him to let it go... the more he just got this crazy look on his face saying it must die... This world is a mess...
Yeah, I have trouble relating to people my age here in the Bible belt. They still support the war and think DARE was awesome. *sigh*
I could never understand why bible thumpers are so war hungery... Unless its not the "war in Iraq" but the "war against muslms" that they are interested in.
