In spite of all the American negativity about bare feet (and it's bad,) I have to agree that even here, flops are worn by men and women. I only noted in my last post that women and girls have the edge, in places where it's "too formal" for flops or otherwise exposing oneself. Only time I get looks is for starting "too early" by the standards of others. It's much colder here than where you live, and I am always one of the first to peel off winter wear, as quickly as I can.
lol i'd probably give you a look too, but not out of anything negative - more out of curiosity and amazement as in, "Dude, don't you feel cold?"
The cold part of it, I guess I'm used to. Although there are others around who do so too. And I'm covered up a little more than this in the winter!
There should have been a third option. A lot of men wear flip flops. They're unisex, pretty much. The ones in the article were particularly attractive, I thought, AND manly.
If you wear shoes or boots all the time, your feet will become soft and weak. How can that be "masculine"?
Most women like man with soft feat actually. That's atleast what my first GF once said to me... Ah love... You have ever found real love...? It's the best a man can get in his life, he...
I think they're manly. But generally, who cares? I used to walk past the "burliest" men, construction workers and other "manly men". Nobody ever said a word.
Speaking of construction workers: most of the construction workers I've seen here wear flip flops, which says more of the current lack of safety precautions of the construction industry in the Philippines than the workers' manliness.
I wear thong sandals 24/7/365, ( I strongly dislike the term "flip flops), and they are definitely manly. I wear the Nike Celso Thong Plus sandals, and they're not only comfortable, but stylish.
That's all I wear- if I have to wear anything on my feet. usually I'm bare. But if the style of the shoe is right, then it's a manly thing. Some flippies could go either way...
There's no feet like bare feet;- i need to feel the ground, it's so much more rewarding than the sole of a shoe. I can't wear thongs anyway, as i have a significant gap between my toes (because of all that barefooting) which allows them to move around and cause irritation.
What about Gene Simmons from Kiss! When He stomps those Dragon boots, You'll run away. That's where that sound comes from; flip flop flip flop flip flop
