Some of my views can be considered Right, but that doesn't make me a right-winger by definition, as I don't see things in only black and white. I believe in small government, I am pro 2nd amendment, I am pro national sovereignty, I am pro property rights, and I am anti-globalist and anti-UN.

ALL politicians support big corporations, because it's the big corporations that support them and get them elected. It's not limited to just Bush.

If liberals never support war, then how come some of the biggest warmongers in history (Trotsky, Lenin, Stalin) were all Leftists?

FDR sent us to war, and he was a liberal.

    Nope.

A liberal could be capitalist or a socialist economical.

Bush isn't a liberal because he favors legalizing morality.

A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans and the autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties, government by law with the consent of the governed, and protection from arbitrary authority.

It depends on the country, in some countries elections are paid for by the public to limit corporate interests.

There is a reason why I said "A real "liberal" by the definition" to avoid this.

FDR, had no choice. Sometimes war is necessary.

You are very naive. If you are a 15 yr. old kid, like I have the feeling you are, this is understandable. I just cannot waste the time arguing with someone who really doesn't know what they're talking about, though.

FDR did have a choice, and war is NEVER necessary. The same central banks that funded the allied forces during the war, also funded Hitler. FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to be attacked to use as an excuse to go to war. This is accepted as FACT by many historians because the evidence is so overwhelming.

Can you try writing a little more coherently? I cannot even understand what you are saying.

Who is running the government? Certainly not George Bush. I doubt he can even tie his shoe.

People use ideology to kill, commit all kind of crimes, to achieve their agendas. This does not mean a certain ideology is bad.

    Ideology doesn't kill, individuals do.

You are right Rat is a right wing nationalistic libertarian.

When Rat says he doesn’t “see things in only black and white” he is lying, he believes we are in a fight between the forces of darkness and the forces of light (good and evil) how black and white can a persons thinking be?

Not surprising for a person that is right wing he believes that all liberals, left wingers, socialists, communists or anarchists are knowingly or unknowingly working for a bunch of devil worshipers that are the forces of darkness, and of course he and his right wing ideas are the forces of light.

Sounds silly to me but that is what he believes.

Oh and don’t be put off by the “I just cannot waste the time arguing with someone who really doesn't know what they're talking about” it just means you are getting close to finding out that his ideas don’t stand up to scrutiny and he is trying to escape.

well, it's a basic fact of human nature that when you surround yourself with only people who agree with you you stop thinking objectively. you hear the mantra, you believe the mantra.

    ...

    wtf?

Are you going to start responding for Pressed_Rat or something? Why would you rob him the chance to speak for himself?

In case you hadn't noticed, Pressed_Rat can post for himself. He doesn't need you to keep posting for him.

Well maybe if you had as little time to research the finer points of all the debates and arguements.. you might have come to a simplistic POV.. Som soldiers share the opinions of many on either side of this whole situation.. They don't all think as one.. they just have to live with the knowledge their POV does not entirely matter.

I vote Labour Live in England am not American .. could not tell you if i would have voted for Bush... as i never heard his campaign.

I guess i must be a inept english labour supporting erm socialist.. i don't fucking care to work it all out. :p

IM why not just say ''I'm right... anybody that disagrees is wrong''

Oh i and don't like left/right argeuments for much of the same reasons as Pressed Rat.. he has a good point.

Wtf? Yes it's a simple point of view at a simple picture, you sign up for armed forces, you sign over your life. You don't make choices for yourself, you follow orders. Don't need to do any "research" to understand that pally.

you still vote. in an ideal situation, you'd still have the ability to think.

  20. This is what i've been saying all along.

Yet why is conservatism still so appealing? Fear maybe?

And how does it make any sense in a rapidly changing world? I'm racking my brain to figure it out [IMG]

In response to the original question, there are idiots everywhere. And maybe the problem isn't intellectual ineptitude, its intellectual pragmatism. I guess...not thinking because its convenient, common to all people eh? If you think about it, calling a person mentally inept because they're conservative is just sinking to the same level...do you get me? Or are they just stupid and I'm being too nice. These questions have plagued me for many years.
