I was told my name was derived from Бојан (Bojan), and my name is Brian...although it's really not the exact "equivalent" in Serbian. Crazy Dalmatians eh?

Doesn't that have something to do with war too Piaf? my Slavic language history isn't the best....

Ummm....Bojan sounds more Serbian than Croatian. I mean, its more common in Serbia.
    But I like it.

I dont know if it has something to do with war...People here judge too much just by someones name.
When I tell someone my name, they immediately know where I'm from.

Is your name actually Piaf? Where is that associated with? When I told someone from Srbija that, they assumed my family was from Belgrade, not sure if there's actually something to that or they just said the first city (just so happens to be the capital too) that came to mind.

Anyways, Croats, Serbs, Bosnians they are all crazy......the Dalmatians on the other hand, we are just chillers enjoying the Adriatic sea and we try to stay away from all the violence. I need to brush up on my cyrillic alphabet and try to start a revolution there to gain independence from our Croatian overlords. Serbia/Montenegro would probably help too, expecting that we'd just become part of their country in the end....then we'd just throw them off our back, have an independent nation and live free for once! That's why my baba (grandma) hasn't been back in so long, we always get dragged in to other peoples wars.

Gain independence from your Croatian overlords ? Ha ? You know, Dalmatians are Croatian. Dalmatia is a part of Croatia.

Exactly why I said we need to claim independence, it's much like the Scots and the Brits, only they still have the name Scotland. If we were already independent I wouldn't have said any of that. We deserve our own nation, the Croats always drag us into unnecessary violence simply because we're within their "borders" and now people even consider Dalmations to be Croatian....how ridiculous.

Oh and Janja....I'd take that for a Serbian name, very common there. Very close to ganja too....beautiful name.

Dalmatians consider themselves Croatian. Trust me. Have you ever been to Dalmatia ? Recently maybe ? With how many Dalmatians have you talked ? No Dalmatian would use cyrillic alphabet. Ever. Dalmatians are Croatian. I know a lot of them and they'd just laugh at your ideas. With every right.
Dalmatia being a part of Serbia/Montenegro ? Never. No real Dalmatian would allow it.

Oh and dont use Serbia and Montenegro in the same context.
In case you didnt know...Serbs and Montenegrians arent really buddies anymore. Go figure.
