Tron!!! Audio off, your choice of music on. Try Daft Punk's live album, they work well together. Enjoy. :)

Didn't go through each page, so i don't know if this has been mentioned or not...
but i can't believe for the first 6 whole pages nobody had mentioned Apocalypse Now! Easily one of the most tripped out movies ever created, never has the feeling of isolation, paranoia, claustrophobia, or loss of sanity been so ingeniously presented in a movie before. The plot, the characters, and most importantly, the setting, all work so well in presenting what it feels like to go insane. Don't let the Vietnam theme throw you off, it is not a war movie, more of an adventure/suspense film, and it definitely will completely blow your mind.

What's more, if your looking for some reading material, the book the movie was based off of will blow your mind even more so than the movie. The Heart of Darkness. Which is set in Belgium colonized Congo instead of Vietnam. Maybe not for reading while tripping (don't know if reading while tripping is even worth wile), but blow some bud and start reading and it will completely set you into another world. It will give you goose bumps. You really feel as if you are losing your mind along with the main characters. One book that truly ever completely blew my mind.

2 of the best movies to trip to: CLOCKWORK ORANGE and HEAVY METAL... heavy metal is that old school cartoon about different stories in science fiction and a corny ass heavy metal soundtrack... but i swear you drop somethin good and you can move away from the television screen... and clockwork orange is just plain fuckin nuts

You dont mess with the Zohan (strange choice but was great)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (always a winner)
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Being John Malkovitch
One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest (slightly disturbing)

Powaqatsi - put your own music on, Aphex Twin selected ambient works goes particularly well with this - this is loads of timelapse and panormaic shots
    Kowaqatsi - Same as above

Anything by Godfrey Reggio ( I think thats his name - he did the above films) you can download all his stuff through btjunkie

Anything by Michel Gondry hes done loads of music vids - the best thing to do is go link your laptop/computer to a big tv, set up a playlist of youtube videos then it plays them 1 by 1 so even if youre too hammered to even press a button they will play - the one problem is the screen has to be maxed each new vid.

    daft punk around the world,
chemical brothers (especially let forever be and star quitar),
massive attack (tear drop, unfinished symphony, protection),
    aphex twin - window licker
    leftfield - Afrika shox,
    boy 8 bit - 8 bit trip
Oui oui oui - les calloux,
Some bjork videos are pretty good,
Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham have both done a lot of good stuff,

I also like watching time lapse videos, buildings being blown up/ knocked down and super slow motion bullets going through fruit and stuff like that, great when your on it - try it!

For the longest time i was a firm believer in the Fear and Loathing, the wall, alice in wonderland classics. But because of my reccent night shift security job, i've had a lot of time with my laptop and that dvd despenor in town, and i must say i've become a huge fan of childrens computer animated movies. They have these underlying messages to them that are just mind blowing, even sober. And it only recently came to my attention that its probably fried out 40 year old making most of these films, so it only makes sense. here is a good list:

Dr. Sues Horton Hears a Who
    Planet 51
    Up
    Monsters Vs. Aliens
Cloudy, with a chance of Meatballs
    Avatar

    I'll add more later.

    1.) Matthew Barney's "Cremaster" series,

2.) Anything by David Lynch, esp. his collection of shorts,

3.) The bizarre animations of the Brothers Quay,

    4.) "Wallace & Grommit" flicks,

5.) Most everything by David Cronenberg, with "The Fly", "Existenz," &, "Naked Lunch" at the height of that list,

6.) "Battlestar Galactica" (the new series) and "Caprica", also, "Carnivale" (for television series),

    7.) "Donnie Darko",

8.) Darren Aronofsky flicks, esp. "Requiem for a Dream",

    9.) "Memento",

10.) Anything by Terry Gilliam, esp. "Time Bandits", "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen", & "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus",

    11.) "Legend",

    12.) "Dark Crystal" & "Labyrinth",

    13.) "Avatar",

    14.) "The Neverending Story",

15.) Odd as it may sound, old Bogie flicks like "Key Largo" or "The Big Sleep",

    16.) Guillermo del Toro flicks,

    17.) "The Exorcist" & "Bug",

    18.) "Rosemary's Baby",

19.) Tim Burton flicks (one & all!),

    & 20.) John Waters flicks...

& for good measure, also, anything by either Stanley Kubrick, Todd Solondz, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the Coen Brothers, & Michel Gondry... esp. "A Clockwork Orange", "Happiness", "Delicatessen", "The Big Lebowsky", & "The Science of Sleep" (films listed here in order of directors listed previously),

& for my final selection to add to the mix, "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas"...

    Enjoy!!! :cheers2:

I don't really like tripping with movies, I like to go outside.
    Sesame Street sounds fun though.
    :]
