Where in PA are you? As I said somewhere earlier... not sure if it was this thread or not, I'm just worried about my husband driving home from work at 7 am. It's a 45 minute drive... it took him almost an hour and a half to get to work tonight and there were accidents on the roads he went. I tried to get him not to go but his work is a bunch of assholes. If it gets really bad though my mom lives five minutes from his work so he can always go there afterwards.
Yeah, I have to admit, it was kind of eerie yesterday...there were no cars out and about, it was totally silent. I was out shoveling my drive and walkway to my house yet again, and the snow just kept coming down fast, the sky was an angry gray, and all of a sudden I hear church bells chiming in the distance, and normally, they sound so pretty, but yesterday evening, they sounded almost ominous. Anyway, we took the kids sledding last night, but it was crazy because the snow kept coming down so heavy, you could barely see! Needless to say, we didn't stay all that long. It was funny watching the twins trudge through the deep snow, it was way up over their little knees. It's snowing right now still, but very lightly. We're still under a warning until noon, but they're saying we shouldn't get more than two more inches.
I'm about an hour north of Pittsburgh. It's supposed to stop here at noon too, so hopefully things can calm down. We got some freezing rain here last night too. Just about every school in the area closed, even my college is closed, lol.
I was just looking outside and I've seen several cars getting stuck in the snow on the road, one was even a large truck. It's still snowing, coming down pretty good at the moment, and has been for the past hour and a half. I went out to do some more shoveling and that snow is HEAVY. My arms are hurting like heck, and I only did the walkway, haven't even attempted the driveway yet, and not looking forward to it either! I couldn't believe it, when I was out there a little bit ago, the snow was so high, and it's blowing all over the place.
we are done here, but its an icy mess outside, and probably will be for a long time as they don't seem to like plowing, and its staying cold for a while sucks
Yeah, I came close to landing on my butt while out in my driveway today. It's pretty icy under all that snow. And man, my arms ache, my back, my shoulders, heck, my whole body hurts. I didn't even get to finish the drive because I was hurting all over, that snow is sooo heavy and there's so much of it! I did most of it, but gave up after a while. Hopefully my husband will be able to get in the drive when he comes home from work, if not, oh well, guess he'll have to dig himself out.
its really shitty outsdie here. school put out a warning saying residential students shouldn't travel unless they really have to get off campus, otherwise we should stay on campus... from an email: "residential (students) should not attempt to move their cars from the university parking lots or travel on the roads-- on or off campus--until further notice. Treacherous conditions already exist and blowing and drifting snow is anticipated for later today. Do not travel. "
Well put your boots on and start walking, and drink a few shots before you head out so that you don't get too cold.
can't drink on campus haha thats a long walk...and was just joking. have $6 in my checking account, so no bar for me
