I'm in Louisville now by the way. I'm in Lexington around every other weekend though. If I had a place of my own I'd invite you all for a little jamfest

How about a drum circle or jam fest down by the river? I know of a great place. Not a long hike from parking. Here in Harrison Co. Cynthiana

Hmm, I guess I'll post here since there's no Kentucky forum... I tried the backpacker's forum, too... but I'm not sure how much traffic it gets and I need an answer within a week!

Taking a trip next Saturday (the 15th) to Louisville for the Ani DiFranco show (yay!) and we were considering stopping along the way back for a hike with the dogs. :) It looks like there's a bit of wilderness down around the Cave City/Mammoth Cave region. I was hoping someone might recommend a nice trail, not too long, with some running water, (river, creek, etc.) and not too many people. I would just go for the Nat'l park, but I'm hoping for some seclusion, or at least very very few people along the way. Once I get into the woods I like to be able to take off clothing at leisure, let dogs off leashes, etc. :)

Looks like I'm a little late, but if you want good wilderness in KY the place to go is Red River Gorge. It's the most beautiful place this side of the mississippi (IMO)

And I just looked up that Ani DiFranco, and I like it...real good mellow tunes. Where is the show at? I live in Louisville and wouldn't mind checking it out.....If it hasn't come and gone already..

I live in Nicholasville, which is just straight down down Nicholasville Rd. in Lexington. If any of you people from around that area want to talk, just send me a PM. I'm always bored and enjoy talking to new people.
