    "Need" it doing?

Only in extreme medical conditions would a child need a portion of their penis or vagina removed.

So two dislikes to tell the parents of a child needing it done, to not feel bad...you would rather the child suffered...ha, unreal that! Would you identify your selves, and explain why?

    Read this...

    http://www.vascularsurgicalexpertise.co.uk/tight_foreskin_adult_circumcision.html

My little boy couldnt pee, and was in real bad pain..the infection this can cause can actualy damage other parts there...what? I should have left it? Well you would have trouble telling he had a circumcision, but he did! What you should know, is the types of cut available, and if its not what you want, find someone who will do it... Instead of scaring peoples minds...perhaps you were unlucky in the usa, personaly i would sue! But at the end of the day, im pointing out, that sometimes, it has to be done!

    Well, two points here.

First of all, I already said it was reasonable in extreme medical circumstances, as would be removing any part of the body.

Secondly, there are other ways to treat extreme phimosis.

That really wasnt a good reference, it was reference to men and women only, im standing up for babies and children that have to be done...
Can i say, that link was a cop out... :p

Well, regardless I'm not sure why we are even debating this as I agreed that under extreme medical conditions it could potentially be necessary (I heard of one case where there was literally no hole at the end of the foreskin! THEN it would be necessary I would imagine to at least do it to a very limited degree).

The specifics could be debated, but it seems weird that you are treating this as if I fundamentally disagreed with you.

I am unsure at this point as to whether the other options such as steroid creams could apply to minors. I suppose it depends if they could disrupt the child's hormonal balance either systemically or within the penis itself. Not sure on that at this point.

Well, to help you along with that, long term use of steroids, does its self cause problems, and a childs skin, this is not recomended, as the skin is quite delicate, on a new baby, it would be a no no..
    Adult, yes, different case altogether...
The reason i stepped in, is because this thread had turned very anti circumcision, and you were saying how unreasonable it was to do said op...even though you admit not having the op yourself...
It is a known fact that in the USA there was a scandle due to the unessesary use of the said op, and this is the directive of your thread...you didnt cover the infant need for circumcision..so i included it, with proper link, so people who read this thread, dont feel bad, or that they may have been able to prevent their child being butchered! because sometimes, its not un common for CHILDREN to need it... :)
Oh, and to be honest...if its done from birth, you wont know a difference, and lets be honest...it does look nice.. both ways!
Oh, and im not debating, i added another item, you neglected to add, ....

I would imagine it's fair enough in complete emergencies where there are no other options. I have said that all along I think, or at least for some time.

I am unsure about the viability of the steroid creams for children, I have not looked into that (yet).

Of course, as I say, removal of ANY body part may be necessary under certain extreme circumstances, so the foreskin isn't in a unique position here other than perhaps causing issue RELATIVELY more often. Phimosis is still apparently rare though in adulthood. I myself had phimosis I think (as does almost everyone) when a child and early teen. Like with about 99.95% of people or more, it went away by adulthood (about 16 or 17 for me, maybe sooner I really don't know, it never bothered me, I never even noticed).

Other than the fact it is estimated to reduce sexual pleasure by over 50%, possibly over 80%. And the fact that every person is entitled to their own body.

Circumcision/intact is not like a choice, like these are two "forms" the male body can come in. Like we have two default options. No more than female circumcision is.

It never bothered you and you didnt notice? Clearly you did!
But just dont make people feel bad about making a decision, because clearly, you did... :)

well, at about 16/17 I got my first girlfriend, so I started thinking about myself more "down there".

So I actually made an effort to... you know... investigate, and I cleaned and sorted it all out lol

But the thing is, as a developing male, I guess sometimes you just get used to leaving that part of you alone when you're a child and early teen. It takes time - in my experience - to get "brave enough" to pull it back xD

Mine was tricky to do that with until my late teens and is now totally easy.

That was definitely a TMI haha

But my point is that phimosis is normal whilst a child and early/mid teen. It goes away for over 99.95% of people once you reach adulthood.

I am cut as were most of the kids that grew up where I did and when I did. I like it just fine and have never once thought that someone mutilated me. Once again I like it that way. I only know of one boy at school that wasn't cut he was the one that everybody thought was different and talked about. It all depends on where, when and who raised you.
