I haven't watched tv in about 2 months i think, since i started school. I hate tv. If i wanted to watch anything i can download it and watch without the god damn commercials.

I didn't watch television the whole time I was in college.
Sure I was busy with schoolwork, but I also had new interesting friends to talk with, social events and hiking on the weekends. I didn't set out to not watch television, it just didn't happen.

I don't watch TV much, but mostly because it bores me and the internet is much better anyways. When i was little all i did was watch TV, but the past few years i've barely watched it at all. There's still a few shows i like to watch from time to time, but 90% of the ones i used to watch daily now bore me out of my mind lol

Haha I doubt their are cameras in televisions, but they do want to brainwash. And it's not necessarily brainwashing but more manipulating. They show trends and people follow. They show commercials for this or that and you want to go buy it. There's so much on tv and in movies that we follow.

nah man its complete brainwashing... the flickering or HZ of the refresh rate isnt necessary, but designed to hypnotize you pretty much... so you stay glued to the tv without caring about much else, rendering you docile. and most of the stuff they put on tv totally changes your way of thinking for the negative so you never think about positive things or new ideas.. youll just discuss what was on tv with other people and attract more negativity getting nowhere in life....

I watch it from time to time, but you can't believe everything they say word for word... Don't get me wrong, i believe in aliens 100% i don't see how anyone couldn't believe in them! But, Ancient Aliens is just like any other television program... they spice it up to keep people watching, and some of it's probably not entirely true. And 100% of it is just a theory.

Just because aliens are real, that doesn't mean they've been to earth. They probably have though, but not all of our world mysteries can simply be answered by "aliens did it".

But nevertheless, it is a pretty good show!

I think we don't give ancient cultures enough credit for some of the architectural wonders that are sometimes attributed to creatures from outer space.
Are they saying that non-Europeans aren't capable of great achievements?

For the longest time I was inclined to believe that all alien sightings were hoaxes or some drunk redneck seeing stars in front of his bleary eyes. After all, the nearest star would take us a lifetime to reach and we see no evidence of planets in the life zone around Proxima Centauri. But the more I hear about sightings, I am beginning to wonder if maybe there is some way to traverse the distance between the stars that doesn't require nearly infinite energy and millions of years of travel.
The universe is so big that the odds are in favor of other intelligent beings somewhere out there. So do they find some way to bore through space and time and emerge in orbit around our planet, bypassing the journey I once thought was necessary?

I still believe lots, maybe most of these "unidentified objects" are unidentified mirages, but not everything is so easily dismissed and those are the incidents I am focusing my attention on.

I agree 100% remember skepticism is your best friend, but if you dig deeper and do your own research youll know whats legit. Im surprised how many truths theyre allowed to air on that show though, they do not only talk about aliens :D

Government mandated switch from analog to digital. Why? Like the
Man said the flickers and what not hypnotize. You become glued and then it seems as if all there is to do is watch television without being bored.

That is true, but yes ikr! Same with that jesse ventura conspiracy theories show, that show is very scripted and over-done by hollywood, but it still has some pretty decent information in it. They just dumb it down a lot for the masses i believe...

I have a flat screen digital tv in my room, and the thing is rarely ever turned on, i don't think you're brain washing us (well, they are... just not this way) and if they are, it certainly isn't working... with me at least, TV bores me, as i'm watching it i usually can't wait for what i'm watching to end lol unless its something interesting on the history or discovery channel... lol

How do you come up with this? It doesn't make any sense. People are easier glued to the tv because the digital ones flickers? How does this hypnotizing works... You probably have a reliable source to share I'm sure.

The internet is way more hypnotizing than TV. TV bores me quickly, but I can find people preaching what I desire to hear and telling me the lies I choose to believe much more easily on the net versus the tube. The real difference, is that I feel smarter for no apparent reason when I waste my time on the internet.
All hail the false sense of superiority.

Personally I refuse to get a TV at the moment as I think it has a negative impact on adults to vegetate on the sofa infront of so called "Reality" TV. However I Will be getting one next year solely for the purpose of pre-school education channels, for junior. And possibly allow a movie in the evening but other than that it's a safe bet TV will be limited.

I do agree with you to some extent there but lets not disregard the fact that on TV we have to watch what's put on and in that order or record it if we don't get bored and switch channel.

The plus side to the internet here is that you can choose the subject matter at anytime you like on the internet. And have access to a broader range of information. (most of what is on tv is on the internet, but you cant fit the entire internet into a tv ) This is why TV bores people quickly.
And with regards to preaching and lies, don't forget that channels are just as capable of bias as an internet blog author. Infact I often read or hear things I don't want to on the internet. It's the diversity of opinion from all the people, not just the news reader or presenter that makes the internet IMO better.
Ps. you dont "feel smarter for no apparent reason" if you learn something. ;)

It's a theory, someone else posted about it above me. It makes sense, why else mandate a switch from analog to digital why can't analog still be available? The Digital switch is another example of a police state. It's something they are forcing you to do if you want to watch television. Why not send waves or impulses to control the mind?
