anyone else not watch tv?

The stuff that's popular on TV nowadays just dumbs ya right down.
I watch only a few things, like Rescue Mediums (a ghost/physic show), The History Channel, and the News.. sometimes. Don't really need to watch the news often though, they usually keep on the same damn topic for over 2 weeks anyway.

watch the local news and xfactor..thats about it. boring so boring

 

I often go a week without watching it but occasionally I will sit down and see if anything interesting is on. I usually watch interesting stuff one discovery or national geographic or history channel or military channel or travel channel or g4 NINJA WARRIOR!!!!! cops is sometimes fun to watch especially the older version of cops. boxing and mma is always interesting too.

so yeah tv I think is great occasionally but someone who bases their life around tv then I think it can be very brain numbing. especially when you depend on it for entertainment and when no good shows are on someone gets bored. if you get bored because no good tv shows are on then dang thats bad haha.

i can't stand tv. the only thing i ever watch are soccer matches. if there was a way to only pay for the soccer channels i would, no joke. commercials are the worst too. it feels alien to me nowadays when i'm chillin with friends and we're just sitting in front of the tv. i really don't like it.

 

As more televison moves over to the Internet, you may get your wish and be able to watch only your soccer games by going to the streaming broadcast on ESPN or whatever sport channel website you want.

 

that would be ideal. then i would really have no use for a t.v. seriously, i use it more for back ground noise for my dogs. lol.

Not that I'm excluding myself. I have no TV set, but watch the few things I like. I don't have time to waste on what's-the-name and stoopid-ville-life.

In relation to this I want to recommend (oh, the irony) a film!
A film against television: "Free Rainer" (or the strange English title: Reclaim Your Brain) I love it! not realistic at all, but I definitely had some leaky-eye moments.:daisy:

 

I think if you feel not watching tv dumbs you down you should definately watch it!!!

 

Anybody looking to be filled with goverment propaganda to the point of being a complete slug when it comes to capacity for free speech or thought, watch tv.

It's there to distract you, to make you not care, to keep you entertained so that you don't realize or care that, outside of your little box's fairy worlds, you rights are being stripped away.

It's all bread and circus bullshit!

 

I am pretty much anti-tv. The reason I stopped watching yrs ago was the stupid content of the sitcoms. The constant assault of ads over and over and over...I would think...really? this is how I want to waste my time? And in most cases it is nothing but a waste of minutes or hours that I realized I would never get back, lol. What do I have to show for it? But in all honesty it is not all a waste of time. But I found I did'nt like the percentage. I do and have done what many do today. For any series or movies I want to watch I just download and watch without the commercials. God I hate commercials. There are several British series and mini series that are pretty cool. The only american series I watch last yr was Breaking Bad. I do like a good documentary which is what I tend to watch more than anything. But I've noticed that the doc's I download that come from the History Channel constantly repeat the same thing over and over recapping after the cut out commercial and it ends up 50% content 50% repeating whats already been said...lol it's crazy and very frustrating...I get the feeling I am treated like someone with a 3yr old mentality. But bottom line is no one forces me to do it, it's a choice I make. And like someone said, most things if not in moderation can be bad.

 

I wouldn't know if that's true or not, but if you are aware that it dumbs you down, how can it dumb you down? It's not like you'll be taking fox news seriously or anything.

 

Same thoughts here indeed. If you're not a complete idiot it doesn't dumbs you down. Just be selective most of the time. If you feel like the commercials could get to you subconsciously change the channel when they're on again. Especially when you find them annoying. And if you come home from a long day of work and feel like spending the night watching shit sometimes... you still not a retard for doing so.

 

T.V. is the ultimate propaganda and brainwashing tool . Its like having the devil sitting in the corner of your room .

Telling a T.V. addict this is like telling an obese person McDonalds is bad for them or a junkie that they should stop taking heroin .

If you have broken free from the shackles of T.V. power too you .

It is not about being dumbed down, it is the fact everything on it has been manipulated by evil forces into making you somebody that you think you have made yourself but infact have not .

Forget about the H-Bomb, it is the ultimate tool to come out of the cold war you are what they want you to be, and don't think you have choice, because ultimately everything on T.V. is about turning you into a Soma zombie, USA USA USA .

 

What if you're not from the USA like the majority of tv watchers on the planet?

 

It doesn't matter what country you live in, what language the show is broadcast in, and what country the show is made in it is all USA USA USA, I can't believe some people can't see this ?

 

Perhaps I should watch more mtv and such to see that?

 

Everytime you watch T.V. radiation worms that are programmed by the Mind Police enter your eyeballs and infest your brain .
