Any suggestions for books like 1984?

Hell yes. Philip K. Dick blows my mind. He is so flipping awesome. I love all his stuff.

 

I also enjoyed Anthem.

Anna Karenina is a great book

 

OH--the high school senior reading list has great 1984-ish novels...actually wrote a paper comparing and contrasting 1984, anthem, fahrenheit 451, and the handmaids tale.

margaret atwoods the handmaids tale was probably my fave out of these cause it had that femanist spunk to it she likes to throw in. also, the only one with a female point of view. but--all so wonderful and wonderful to read as a clump!

 

I just read "Oryx and Crake" for Eng. 111 - the best book I have ever had to read for school by far!
