they're always that expensive. I think the price is probably lower in some cities because they're more common but hardly anyone ever uses cabs here so the one cab company that exists jacks up their rates.
I don't know. I'm sure they do rip some people off tho. I don't take cabs, people that take cabs everywhere have too much money for their own good. There's people that take cabs on trips that I would consider a very short distance, lilke 10 blocks or something. You might think you wanna take a cab to go crosstown, but I swear you could walk faster during rush hour.
Short of catching the cash cab you'll pay through your ears.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-SwGBBt5K0"]cash cab champions - YouTube Hotwater
I ended up calling a cab last night. When I called I was expecting it to be 45 minutes before they got there. I told them to take their time. I was in no hurry. They could even put others ahead of us. I told them to just call me and we would come outside. They finally called and said it was the third and final time they would come to get us. I was ok with them but reminded them that it was only the first time they called to say they were on the way. I gave the dude $40 for a $12 cab ride so I hope it was all good but....I had the phone right next to me the whole time. They should have called the first time like they said they would.
yeah, i've never been on a cheap cab ride. a $20 ride is walking distance. hell, i've walked the same trip as a cab ride that cost me $40 before. i think by "around here" you must mean "planet earth."
The cabs here are cheap to get to a lot of places, it just depends. Beach to downtown can get pricey. But on new years there are free cabs and even tow companies will tow your car home for free.
went to some barefoot rave/party thing in amsterdam, it was kinda chill, not very hectic, most people there were significantly older than me and my partner, but we got fucked up on whiskey and coke and had a great time
