Bebop was the shit. I'm currently watching the last couple eps of death note. The first half was excellent, but I'm not sure about the current plot. Well we'll see.

As for martial arts type anime, I'd say Samurai Deeper Kyo is pretty good, and the fight scenes in Bleach make my spine tingle.

As for my personal favorites; Ergo Proxy, Darker than Black, D Gray Man and Texhnolyze.

I just got into this new Anime "Toward the Terra" it's a space opera, and probably more for girls and mature guys, but it's really good.

Other girly anime that I like-"Nana and Nana" and "Clannad". But I can't help but feel that intelligent men could appreciate them as they are dead funny.

If anyone has yet to see Darker than Black, you need to go watch it immediately. Soooo good.

What's that? You can't find it because it is licensed. Never fear, download it here:

Cowboy Bebop, old school robot shows like MS Gundam and Robotech, Neon Genesis, Akira, and anything by Hayao Miyazaki, people have probably said all those before but they're some of my favorites.

You should also check out some shit like Irresponsible Captain Tyler, Otaku no Video; classic.

If you haven't seen Cowboy Bebop, I highly suggest it. They air it on Adult Swim every so often. It is the most brilliant thing I have ever watched. It's witty, the characters are dynamic, and the ending is absolutely superb.

    Best anime series EVAR.

    Watch it!

Some shows that I've watched since december that I enjoyed:

Spice and Wolf - Mostly char. development, only 12 eps. Good characters though, makes you look forward to a second season.

Scrapped Princess - I thought it was a damn good show. Characters weren't anything extraordinary, but it had an excellent plot with one of the most satisfying anime endings I've ever seen.

Ergo Proxy - This was a decent show. Many similar themes to Ghost in the Shell. A good watch if you like the psychological sci-fi genre. Sorta pseudo-intellectual with a lot of obscure references to all sorts of stuff you'll never pick up. Doesn't trouble itself with explaining things to the viewer. Strange show.

That's all I can think of atm.

I would suggest Hellsing for just about anyone. You can't go wrong with vampires and Nazis. However, make sure you get the OVAs. They did another version with Alucard and Integra and I kinda wanted to kill myself. IMO Hellsing is well worth getting the manga because the OVAs are kinda slow in coming and, I don't know about you, but I'm impatient.

Bleach is another really good one and it even kinda goes with the samurai theme. However, I would suggest skipping the Bount Arc. It's more filler than anything. Go straight to the Arrancar Arc after the Seireitei. Episode lists should be easy enough to find.

Also, I love Ronin Warriors, Samurai Troopers in Japanese. It is rather old and the dubbing sucks but it has a really cool plotline and characters. I'm not sure if they have the original version somewhere but it would probably be worth it.

As with almost everyone else I agree with Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, and Death Note. Miyazaki is also epic.
