I am a happy person overall so it's quite difficult to choose. I'd say the day I got my first car, my first "rave trip" out of my province and when I moved out of my parent's place. They were not divorced yet at this time and they were fighting all the time so it was a relief for me.

not a cruel practical joke that i can think of, but a cruel lie... a particularly nasty ex of mine (father of my two youngest children), when questioned about abuse that my children were suffering, told social services that i was Munchausen-By-Proxy and was seeking attention... i'm sure he'll get his one day
