Other advanced countries seem to do a better job of it. Yeps, sensible restrictions seems the answer.

It's like your president himself said: every country has these kinds of loonies or people that wanna do ill, but America seems the only advanced country where such a shooting happens every couple of months.

 

Great post rj. If he was a Muslim, the gun slingers would be all over FOX news and the radio talk shows about this. However, Chris Mercer was a mixed race Christian, and described himself on a dating website as a "Conservative Republican"...saw that on Russia Today's website!

 

There is no way to keep guns from crazies and criminals. Even if they did background check...criminals will still have access to guns. Honestly, would scare me to think only cops and criminals were the ones with guns, so IMO gun control is NOT the answer. But...I don't know what is either.

Man, the media really has it covered, aye. Yesterday when I posted this thread, it was 10 dead, 20 wounded. Then I saw 13 dead, 20 wounded. Now it's 10 dead(counting the shooter) and only 7 wounded.

They are reporting that the shooter asked those he shot, what their religion was, and killed the Christians. The Cop in charge of the investigation said he hasn't heard anything about the shooter asking for their religion. Does that mean the evangelicals are trying to blame anti-christians for the massacre?

Okay, so now there's no assault weapon, just four hand guns and a riffle. So that lets the NRA off the hook? Here's a clue....the NRA IS THE CAUSE OF THE GUN CULTURE!

The GOP is owned by the NRA. The NRA lobby gives republicans the money to get elected, in order to keep the "GUN CULTURE".

Since 2010 there has been 316 terrorist deaths in the U.S....in the same time there has been over 326,000 gun violence deaths. And the republicans claim to be PRO-LIFE.

Nine killed yesterday at the college in Roseburg Oregon...But the republicans want to talk about Benghazi where only four were killed five years ago, and Hillary Clinton didn't kill them!

 

Sadly, we do not get good news either, everything is clouded or monitored. As a nation, we are not told the truth by our news people. I just don't think more laws will help the average basically law abiding citizen. If cops and criminals are the only ones with guns...well that doesn't sound like a plan to me. I very much distrust cops.

 

The NRA and the republicans have saturated this country with guns. They have created the problem. The first step is to get them out of power. Banning assault weapons is not unreasonable nor impossible. You have to start somewhere.

Replace the gun culture with a pot culture...."make pot, not guns."

 

How do you suggest for this Ban to work? have people turn in any assault weapons they own?Take them out of stores?
