Animals do feel

Clover, you managed to quote half the sentence. The point to what I was making with the "it doesn't affect me" argument is that many people, like those on these boards for example, use it to defend Gay Marriage. You cannot use an argument one place and discard it in another.

Apples+Oranjes, you are under the impression that I am trying to be as open-minded as you people here. Wouldn't take much, as it extends to point where you are always right.

Labels and Stereotypes? I've been reading posts on these boards, and it seems to me that you are all hippies, and liberals! Dear God! I am afraid I've mistakingly labeled you as something you are. The people on these boards pride themselves on being open-minded, then turn their backs on what they have just said and whine about the sickening feeling they get when someone kills and animals, that it is WRONG. Wrong as in incorrect. So much for being open-minded.

I believe that science also shows that humans are more intelligent than animals. If you believe that we are not, you are ignorant.

Ignorant... a label used for those who disagree with you. Sounds like some people are stereotyping...

 

No part of science can literally go into the minds of animals and distinguish what they are thinking and feeling.

Relying on science isn't always the answer.

Secondly, did I say you were trying to be open minded? Nope. Don't assume it makes an ass out of u and me :-D

Oh, I love you, you are so what I thrive for... I like a good debate every now and again.

By the way, I may be liberal, but that doesn't automatically make me a hippie. I come on here because I agree with the majority of the views on here, and i feel that I can relate to a lot of the others on here.... I hate names. I hate being referred to, or calling myself a hippie, just as I hate when people refer to others as "punk" "preppy" or "ghetto"... not everything must be organized and sorted out...especially when it comes to organizing humans...that's impossible, considering not one of us is exactly the same as the other.
