I've never got mail from then, other than what I asked for. That kind of tactic is bound to backfire though.

Otter, I totally agree with you. Letter writting does seem more effective. Especially to magazines/newspapers, as the letter reaches a wider audience.

I do still sign petitions though, some have had an impact. And I figure it beats doing nothing. (Yeah I could do more, but am a procrastinating slob)

it is very hard to get the medias attention, they wont cover anything unless it is going to be "exciting", they wont turn up to cover a protest unless its going to be good viewing, eg a huge crowd, something unusual or voilent, naked ppl running around or soemthng dumb. the media doesnt care about the real issues. they wont cover a protests unless its got something unusal in it, they certianly (very very rare)don't cover the actual issues in any real depth.... i dont live in usa but from where i am peta seems to do a good job at getting the medias attention, eg KFC footage being on your news was very impressive. Those ppl calling you a petard....that must suck though, but im guessing those types wouldnt give a shit about animals anyhow, peta or no peta so how they are hating peta is not really going to affect anything. I mean if they are gong to let a groups actions put them off being compassionate to animals, then id say they were never really going to be compassionate. One groups actions cant make peopel be cruel to/be indifferent to animals imo.
