Well... if you want to call it that, I've always been a huge fan of jazz and boring folk music. Seems to suit me fine, but it's not just the music, it's what she represents as a person... not only that, she's probably one of the most unique musicians I know of... It's different and that's why I like it. It's Dave Matthews magnified except without the politics and commercialism... it's kind of sad using him as a comparison, but he's the only person I can relate to with this style of music.

To tell you the truth, I like all music, but if I had all the equipment to do a certain genre.... it would be an electronified jazz... that's always been my thing though... I record folk and blues and rockish things here and there... but I've always liked electronic jazz fusion/blues/folk.... :p Strange genre, eh?...

    Exactly.
I find many of her songs very similar, but not boring at all. I love 'em. I love what she stands for, and she supports Ralph:). real groovy chick she is.

I absolutely adore Ani... she's a really nice person too; I had the honor of standing braindead and tongue tied backstage at her Asheville show last year. Very genuine, humble artist, she is capable of making you feel right at home!

My personal favorite song by her is far and away, Self Evident, followed by Bodily, Serpentine, Come Away, Providence, To The Teeth, Icarus, Independence Day, and yeah, yeah, yeah... I could go on and on!

I know that feeling....Right now I'm listening to Fire Door/Amazing Grace, whatever its called....her music is so beautiful.

A friend of mine from these forums met her too not very long ago at a concert in Japan. He posted about it in Captain Christine's Pirate Ship forum. Lucky bastard...i'm going to meet her someday.

She's coming to Raleigh in a couple of months, just after my birthday too! I'm trying to get backstage for that one too, haven't heard back yet, tho :(

Holy crap... Bubble is awesome. She's the only person I've ever heard to use a wah-wah with acoustic. I need to try that. I'm thinking about getting an Alvarez Yairi like she plays.

No no no no, I was not saying that jazz or folk was boring, I love both, and im sure if you took a look at some previous posts of mine you can see I like music of all genres, if its good its good, i find her music boring, I also like to see bands evolve, funny since I know that that is a big point of one of Ani's songs, but I dont see that, the songs I heard from her newest album remind me of the older stuff. Eh my choice , my distaste.
