Ancient Atheists

well i think the original atheists believed instead in the spiritual force behind the world. i think someo f the earliest spritual beliefs in fact were atheist. along the lines of the guys who made stonehenge. but way before. just that sorta direction, you know? i think i recal they believed in some natural force sorta thing, but not an actual entity. anyone else know about this?
