The Bible is the direct word of God, passed down through the writers as if they were secretaries taking notes from a heavenly voice. Everything in the Bible is taken as true and things should be taken word for word as they are written. The Bible is free from all error because it is not the words of men, but the Word of God. If there appears to be contradictions in the Bible these can be explained away. Also, if the Bible seems to contradict science then scientists must be wrong.

 

ohh theres your problem..reading with your eyesclosed only leads to making up your own reality of what your reading..i do that i'll be reading..get tired & close my eyes & continue "reading" the story goes on..but after i bit i'll open my eyes & realixze what i "read" with my eyes closed was nothing like the real words..
secondly.. the king ja,mes version is the pervrsion the bible had been rewritten over & over..& the king james version is missing certain texts that disagreed with the kings personal beliefs.. so in essence your reading a long dead kings words..not the word of god..& if thats not foolish enough..your claiming to know gods word god commanded you..god told you.. thats called schitzophrenia my freind..if your hearring voices, you need help..maybe they can fixx your inabilty to get it up ayt the same time

In Confirmation classes they explained that not everything in the bible must be taken literally. For example, the whole Adam and Eve thing is just a myth that tried to explain how men were created. So, are Catholics sinners because they believe there are some things that must be taken metaphorically?

lol 1 of the funniest things i've heard in a very long time..ok if its written by men..lets say they did sit in a room taking dictation directly from god..even the best secrataries make errors.. is there a heavenly white-out? so..all scientists are wrong? rainbows arent in fact reflevcted light throuugh water?? theyre a sign from god? women wre made from a rib? conceise thought proves without a doubt much of the bible is a stretch of imagination.. however..blind faith allows you to disbelieve what is in front of you & blindly follow what is unprovable & invisible.. if 6000 years ago the book was written saying god commands you to pill your seed upon the earth.. you'd be the sinner for having a medical problem rendering you permenantly flacid

and where is it proven that the bible is the exact word of god? i know you think it is, but can you show me where it is a documented fact? blind faith and shouting at people about hell isnt proof, its gulibility.

 

could"nt of put it any better meself " you are a wise soul.......antiporn just a question - have you read JESUS UNTOUCHED BY THE CHURCH ( his teachings in the gospel of thomas) ? .if not i would recomend you read it . only one ancient book recording the teachings of jesus has escaped being touched by the church.at no time have it contents been influenced by churchmen "and it does not reflect doctrines of the christian church. furthermore"only a single copy has escaped later destructions. these scriptures were discovered in 1945 by peasants in egypt"hidden in a jar buried in the sand by monks of a monastery at a time of danger. known as the gospel of thomas" it comprises a collection of 114 sayings by jesus. each saying has an outer shape and inner meanings.it was jesus teaching and method that the recipient of his words benefit by working out these hidden spiritual meanings. for me personally "i try to have my own connection with god..........and guess what antiporn ......i get erections ......so if that makes me a bad person in your eyes "so be it . as a christian" my connection to god comes privately from my home "not a church ( brainwashing). therefore i do not try to preach to anyone (only to myself). god bless you all who want to be blessed.
