I don't think I have to create an ailment for you to recognize. It is there for all to see.

 

An ailment?

When humans feel besiegde by disease, do they look outward and ask themselves the necessary questions? Do they ask themselves whether or not they are getting proper nutrition, or whether or not their water is clean and pure? Do they ever ask themselves whether or not the air that they breathe is pure enough for their requirements?

No, they do not. What they say is, "We do not want to look at that, for, to dwell upon such things is too hard. Instead, let us do experiments to discover what is causing these probems within us. And in your search for the cure to your illnesses, where will you find a body to do your experiments upon? I will tell you. Upon an already ravaged and diseased planet, you will look outward and you will find an animal. And you may say to yourself, "It is only an animal. It does not feel; it does not know emotion, for it is truly dumb. And since it is not like me, it is therefore my right to use it in my experiments to discover where these illnesses come from and how they can be cured."

But who is the dumb one here? Who is the blind one? Who is the one without emotion? Who walks in such darkness that they could ignore their own place in the disease process? And who, in spite of the condition that the world is in, can still walk out upon the planet and begin to rape and ravage again and again? When you take an animal and torture them for the benefit of your darkness of mind, are you acting from your inner awareness--your God essence?

Take responsibility for your actions. Take responsibility for your illness and your death. And take responsibility for your life, for it is time that this great and terrible tragedy to end. It is time for man to recognize that he is the one who has perpetrated this terrible and vicious illness upon his own children. And it is not an illness of the body that I am speaking of here. I am now speaking of the illness of a dark mind. It is an illness that causes ones to totally ignore their own position within a dark and terrible circular pattern of death, and to perpetuate tortures of all kinds upon the innocent ones of the planet. Tell me how it is that you would teach your children such blasphemy. For, you see, you are betraying a sacred trust upon this planet, and the sacred place you hold herein.

I ask that, from this moment on, you say your prayers. But say them from your intuitive inner heart, your soul guidance, and your God essence. If you allow the answers to flow forth, you will never again pick up another animal and drive a hook through their head, or put poison into their eyes. You will never again sever their body in two to see what happens when a being is cut in half. Never again will you allow yourself to use another living thing for nothing but senseless and useless torture as you wear your blinders on your journey through this world.

Go to a place where the animals are tortured and ask if you may go inside to be shown what is done there. You will not be allowed inside. They will lock the doors and say, "No, you may not come in. Don't you know that this is a controlled experiment? The torturing of living flesh has become a way of life for us, and we receive funds for this."

Yes, funds from your own pockets they receive for their tortures.

Do you understand the gravity of this situation? Do you understand that you have betrayed not only these other living creatures, but yourselves as well? For, in your blindness you have allowed yourself to become ill, and you have allowed your children to be born into a world where disease of both body and mind are becoming the norm. You are telling them that they have no control, and that they are therefore not responsible. You sever their natural instincts of love for other life forms before they are old enough to know better. After all, it is you who controls their minds and hearts from the very beginning.

Initially the statement struck me as does the statement, if you loved me you wouldn't have to ask in response to the question, what's wrong.
It is a snap theoretical retort to the idea that we should learn to ask the question what is it for. On paper it appears an antecedent to my statement. In practice however, just because I recognize the principals doesn't mean I understand the dynamics of a thing or situation. What is it, is a different question than, what is it for.

So I reiterate, learn to ask the question what is it for. You ask the same thing about government action and it illumines your stance, that is to the extent that you are free from prejudicial concerns. You see the propaganda of terrorism. On the surface it looks like a reasoned response, that is until you understand that it is absolutely disproportionate to our everyday reasons.
When you ask the question what is it for, the answer is obviously to assault personal freedoms for the sake of controlling the population. And this is offered as, protection.

Did you know that knowledge is material? Not everyone wants it. That is why some people seem more knowledgeable than others.

I mention crimes of torture against living beings as an ailment, as you requested, and because you did not appreciate the ailment I brought up, you attack me for moralizing. You know how. 9-11 is posed as an existential threat which is way out of proportion to the actual event.

I haven't described what government is for. We exist for and with each other.

In this instance government is for preserving the status quo.

 

I don't think that 911 has to pose as anything. The threats are no longer threats. Surely you've been around the forums enough to have heard about the reality of the imposition of the Patriot Act and other such things. If 911 was bogus, so is everything that came about as a result of it.

 

I think we may differ when it comes to the seriousness of the next generation being brought into the game believing ridiculous things about their rights.

When ever a beauty pageant contestant says she believes the children are our future, she has no idea just how true that is.

 

It did. The threats are no longer threats but the illusion of existential threat is being propagated to support the need for extraordinary action. And the ailment you want to point out is already widely discussed, as you point out.

When I ask you for your contribution you say it is to recognize the ailment as though you have some special apprehension of suffering. Breakdowns come and breakdowns go, what are you going to do about it, that is what I would like to know. Recognizing the ailment in this case amounts to complaining.
That is why I say you can do better.

There is government as an institution and then there are the politicians that participate in and run government. Politic is shrewdness, tact and cunning and those are used to further self interest. This is why government tries to preserve the status quo of maintaining and extending government power.
Government would better be run by technicians than by politicians.

The reason government is run by politicians instead of technicians is for the very moral outrage that you express and moral compasses vary. It is this colloquial moral compass that different candidates appeal to.

You are passionate and articulate in your moral determinations but their purpose is to further your interests as you see them and in this you offer nothing new to the equation. Another politician. Varied interests are not reliable metrics.
