Actually, the British held their own during the Battle Of Britain. You know, when you guys were sitting on your asses talking about how nice it was to be American. While we were dragging our dead out of buildings destroyed by the Blitzkreig.

You sent us equipment, then gave us a huge fucking bill, which we've only just paid off. Cheers for that.

One more thing...the Germans were fighting on two fronts during the Battle of Britain. As well as working on Britain in the West, they also had an Eastern front trying to get into Russia. This split in forces, which eventually led to Hitler abandoning Operation Sealion and focusing on Russia, meant Britain had far less to deal with. So technically, Russia saved our asses.

Then you guys came in a few years late and took all the credit.
