Yeah, she was that crazy christian lady. Haha, I'm trying to picture her doing that signing hymns. It's rather funny. :)

Yes, it is out local version of pbs. I love how they portrayed her tonight. I bet a lot of older people do not know about her. In the 50's they only really talked about Betsey Ross, never amelia earhart, marie curey or any woman of real accomplishment

July will be the 70th anniversary of her disappearance.

Even If the conspiracy theorists are right and she was captured alive by the Japs, she'd be 110 years old [IMG]

gnaw, she was shot down by american military intelligence because they were paranoid that she would be. they even burried the parts of the place and then shot all the guys who dug the hole so there wouldn't be any witnessess and the guy they had order and kill those other guys killed himself too so there really wouldn't be ANY witnessess.

ok, that's bullshit speculation, but don't think shit like that doesn't happen.
everybody points to everybody else doing things like that to say how terrible THEY are, while there own closets are just as full of the same kind of skellitons.

and yup i DO know who, or at least what, she did. woman soloing accross oceans when planes usualy had to island hop and there weren't that many in the air at all. then she set out to circumambulate the planet and the last she was heard from was over the pacific somewhere. this was, if i recall correctly, pre-wwii, but i think post panay incident so it was pretty close to wwii time. anyway, all that would make it about ten years, or maybe a little less, before i was born.

when the nevada county narrow gauge and (passinger service on) the sacramento northern interurban, which were both gone by the time i was born, were still running. but just about at the tail end of their doing so.

quantrill rounded up some raiders in missouri, and ransacked lawrence ks (around the time of the civil war, when kansas was becoming a state) and burned lawrence to the ground.. he was pro-slavery.
