I have grown up in areas with high muslim population. I was born a christian but when I began to think for myself, I realised that religion isn't for me. This is the joy of christianity; people will not persecute you for not being religious. But from what I have seen, muslims take a different approach. If you're not one of them, you're scum. And I have had many a muslim tell me this. Granted, I do know a lot of peace-loving muslims and I take my hat off to them. But I remember when 9/11 happened and in the college where I was studying at the time (1/2 the students were muslim), the muslims were dancing and thinking it was a joyous occasion. But when I told one of them that it was a terrible tradgedy, she told me 'fuck off, white scum'. This is only one example of why I think muslims are evil. OK, so not muslims but Islam as a religion, and of course, all religion, in my opinion. Probably all are equally at fault but I'll be at least honest in saying that I'm biased.
Wait what? He didn pull the convert or die move thats weird, cause the information I got that was from a history book, a real one, you know with letters from the library, and not the fanatical fake or fiction section either the real section. I am not denying the fact that other religions are horrible, lets look at some facts. About Muhammad (pbuh) : Many unusual events have been recorded about Muhammad's (pbuh) birth and childhood: His mother said "When he was born, there was a light that issued out of my pudendum and lit the places of Syria." Also at the time of his birth, "...fourteen galleries of Kisra's palace cracked and rolled down, the Magians' sacred fire died down and some churches on Lake Sawa sank down and collapsed." His foster family had many experiences of amazingly good luck while he was in their care. As a young child, the angel Jibril visited the boy, ripped his chest open, removed his heart, extracted a blood clot from it, and returned him to normalcy. 4 While still young, he was sent into the desert to be raised by a foster family. This was a common practice at the time. He was orphaned at the age of 6 and brought up by his uncle. As a child, he worked as a shepherd. He was taken on a caravan to Syria by his uncle at the age of 9 (or perhaps 12). Later, as a youth, he was employed as a camel driver on the trade routes between Syria and Arabia. Muhammad (pbuh) later managed caravans on behalf of merchants. He met people of different religious beliefs on his travels, and was able to observe and learn about Judaism, Christianity and the indigenous Pagan religions. After marriage, he was able to spend more time in meditation. At the age of 40, (610 CE), he was visited in Mecca by the angel Gabriel. He developed the conviction that he had been ordained a Prophet and given the task of converting his countrymen from their pagan, polytheistic beliefs and what he regarded as moral decadence, idolatry, hedonism and materialism. He met considerable opposition to his teachings. In 622 CE he moved north to Medina due to increasing persecution. The trek is known as the hegira. Here he was disappointed by the rejection of his message by the Jews. Through religious discussion, persuasion, military activity and political negotiation, Muhammad became the most powerful leader in Arabia, and Islam was firmly established throughout the area. Now, most of the other major world religions had leaders who did not advance the religion through any sort of miitary acticity or political negotition. In christianity this did not happen for some time after his death and after Jesus's nice message was turned into a polictical military beast like Islam. I can not say I have ever read a passage where Buddha, or the Green Man invaded a village to give the people the choice of converting or death. "roughly speaking, the Prophet launched 80 campaigns during the ten years from his migration in A.D. 622 to his death in A.D. 632. Some of these campaigns were nothing more than reconnaissance missions..." http://www.al-islam.org/restatement/20.htm But here are some of the real wars fought by the Prophet Himself, The Battle of Badr The Battle of Badr-2. The Battle of Ohod The Battle of Uhud-2 The Battle of Trench The Banu Quraizah The Battle of Haibar The Battle of Mut'ah The Conquest of Makkah The Battle of Hunayn The Battle of Ta'if The Battle of Tabuk Conquest of Mecca Once again heres a website that does good job with my problem with Mohammed himself, http://personalpages.tds.net/~theseeker/Mohammed.htm it is not my site and I ahve not give nt the time to read all of it throughghly, so I am sure there is some part that is wrong or something that someone will attack to prove wrong and discredit the whole thing, like we all know everyone likes to do on forums like these.
every muslim i met has liked me, but with all religions there are overzealous assholes. i dont think the majority of muslims are bad people, just misled like christians, jews, hindus, sikhs..
People are people, there are good people and there are bad people, but we are all people and I like all people. Religions are not people, they are influencers of people.
It is often repeated that Christians long ago embarked on a Crusade, so who are they to complain now about the extremes of Islam today? However, that observation overlooks two facts: (A) We should not compare the Crusades in the Medieval Age with terrorism today. Christianity has undergone a reform in the Fifteenth through the Sixteenth Centuries and has not undertaken a Crusade in half a Millenium. (B) Islam itself has gone on its own Medieval Crusades and committed the same atrocities that Medieval Christians did. To speak childishly, the score is even. However, the difference is this: Christianity had a reformation, but Islam has not—at least not as overtly and with far-reaching effects.
Ive gone over this area again and again and cab still brings up kalid bin walid who is a man who spent three days beheading captives in Iran as a example of how nice and tolerant muslims are . I was just reading how cair are really happy about the way the new ridley scott film portrays them , they should be because like most western media it is completely biased against christians and in favour of the lie that islam is or ever was a peaceful or tolerant religion . The crusades happened after hundreds of years of offensive war from muslims but it is allways portrayed with the christians being the outsiders and barbarians . when the truth is they were in the holy land first because they were a older religion , the crusades were in fact a series of defensive wars . if someone had the guts to actually make a film about the real crusades they would be killed by some of cabs co-religionists , because such a film would have to show the murder, slavery, rape and torture commited by people like mohammed and his thug the sword of allah khalid bin walid .
