no I love some of Motley Crue's stuff, the early 80's were my time (20,21 years old). I just don't think they compare to Crosby Stills and Nash as far a GREAT goes.

But hey the Rolling Stones could possibly be the greatest rock an roll band ever.

but i am very picky about music. its not that i think i have superior taste to other people. i'm just very set in what i do or don't enjoy, and i dont enjoy the sex pistols.

I was in a bar last night and they were playing Nevermind The Bollocks. it was ok. that's probably like the 26th best punk record released that year. Johnny Rotten's band PiL were way better/more interesting.

 

i like a lot of the music that led up to punk rock....but i just dont fucking like punk.

 

i don`t really like PIL . the style is very different , but rotten is always a funky redheaded mess

what do you consider punk/what do you like that led up to it?

this to me is pretty punk, but it came out in the late 60's

 

I don't even like saying punk. it's the most tired word ever.

but what i like is punk-ish type stuff. i wouldnt consider iggy pop and the stooges to be punk, but mostly because i've always heard them referred to as "pre-punk"

they would be a prime example of what i DO like.

 

anarcho punk is cool, the next reasonable step is crust and the grind. of course this kinds of music are not for every mood
