...Alrighty then. I'm fairly certain that theists do exists and their delusions and ignorances are actually sometimes counterproductive and harmful to themselves and others.
They are an abstraction requiring abstract view. Delusion is delusion and a theists delusions are not practically different from an atheists delusions.
yes , I know theists exist . they knock on my door . I open . we will speak of the peaceable kingdom or nothing at all . the peaceable kingdom is pleasant . when once again I am alone . I am content to think that from my home they departed happily . then , oops . I see the dog has left another rabbit head in the yard and i'm glad the theist was not so rude as to gak about it . and when the atheist knocks ? I wouldn't know about that . maybe it's just the wind . I wouldn't know the difference or think to even ask about it . but now , i'll admit , I seriously do believe the wind is intelligent .
Tikoo! thedope! Atheists not human? We have grown up without your gods! Sure, they came upon us as dreams, but we were always more steady, lighter, and more friendly! :-D
perhaps you could explain to the rest of us, what you mean by human, and what you think is so wonderful about it.
and yet he talks of higher ethics as if his delusions and denials somehow contribute, when really it's quite the opposite.
thedope: There are the forms delusions take. What are the theists and atheists delusions you say have no practical difference? Sorry to hear it.
Not all delusions are equal in their distortions of morality... Lets say that my non belief in God is somehow a delusion. How does that affect my ethics and morals? Does God almighty really need any of my empathy? Now examine theist delusions: If you believe that your faith is the one true faith and others are wrong or even evil, how does that affect your ethics and morals? Clearly theistic religious delusions can manifest real animosity for REAL people of other groups, let alone a loss of empathy. Look at his absurd argument, that he does not believe in atheists. If you really don't believe in a person, that is kind of going to affect your level of empathy for that individual.
Didn't pain me to say it. Sorry your model of the wold makes you sorry. Is your mother sorry of heart being that your heart is as your mothers? Their delusion together is that morality is a standard metric...
i'd be a good atheist to disbelieve . with patience , and I see you stand before me wanting nothing and with nothing to give , I await the spirit of wind to speak through you . that's all the empathy I have for a bio-mass entity . I will not be dismissive of your existence , nor impolite . stand your ground for as long as you wish . I'd expect a human to be like music .
I think the only true religion is the one you create for yourself. Everyone has different perspectives and ways to live in the world. You can be part of a certain religion, but everyone part of that religion still have different values based on personal differences and life experiences.
I understand him to mean meat and bones. The atheist as well as the theist being an ascent of thoughtful choices lives as an abstraction. What is so wonderful about it?, a boner can be fun.
lol Then I wonder why you said it at all! Are you overjoyed? Is it better she's dead? Sorry is only my default extension of sympathy for those who announce their loss of another. Some I'm sure feel she's now found, at peace, and are ecstatic for what they think her gain in heaven. I'm not one of them. Which atheist and theist are you speaking of? Are they a standard metric?
Only in a god. The disbelief in humans is just a little mistrust. Nothing to be ashamed of. I'm sure your trust in them is greater. :-D
Because you said our heart is as our mothers, Mine is beating hers is not. For you I wasn't speaking of atheists and theists but of mother and son.
Well the only true measure of devotion you can look to is your own. There are many bonafide religions.
