They have contacted us, we have been geneticly corrected dozens and dozens of times by them. They refer to our bodys as containers, we are a work in progress to them. They created us the way the ones they call the archaic ones created them. LOL! Such ego we puny Earthlings possess! The Universe IS incredibly/inconceivably huge AND old. The speed of light, as far as we can tell, is not only a good idea, it's the LAW.

Combine that with how few extrasolar planets we have discovered thus far in the "Goldilocks" zone along with the fact that as far as we can determine, the majority of life does not get much beyond the slime-mold phase . . . .

There is a school of thought that believes that once a culture evolves itself beyond a certain technological phase and does NOT self-destruct that it turns completely inwards - uploads consciousness to computers and lives in virtual realities. No need to look around or broadcast if you're doing that.

Another factor that is undeniable. We are in the boonies. Nowhere near downtown. We are a tiny, rocky world in a generic solar system, located on the end of the unfashionable arm of a boring "spiral" (only has 2) galaxy in the corner of a boring group in the corner of the local super group. Even if there were aliens that lived almost forever (to be able to surmount the distances) or had super sci-fi technology to make the distances/times irrelevant, why the fuck would they care about us. If they're doing this kind of stuff they are at a minimum a phase I and most likely a phase II society. We are 0 or a negative number currently. Phase I can control an entire planet. Phase II can control an entire system, including the star. Phase II can control an entire galaxy, even the supermassive black hole in the center.

Put it all together and what egos we have to think aliens are watching us, abducting (& molesting!) us, care about us. If they came here, we'd see them coming. They'd come in a large fleet of "mother ships" (Think Independence Day) and would land at world capital locations. They would NOT abduct Sally Mae Bumfuck from her trailer park.

And if this happened we would be completely and utterly FUCKED! Remember, they evolved too. Look what the history of different cultures in first contact situations on Earth has shown us. Results? Every single time: Genocide and/or slavery for the less developed culture. Be careful what you wish for. Be glad we are not being watched.

It actually makes perfect sense. If we traveled to another planet and found it teeming with life we wouldn't just "invade" the planet. We would stealthy collect samples of the life on the planet and try to not disturb it in order to try to understand it.

The problem though is if this was actually happening, we should be getting better and better videos since video technology is so much better than 10 years ago even. Practically everyone is walking around with a video camera now yet that is not what is happening.

To say it has to be true because no one would lie about being abducted is nonsense. People are bat shit crazy.

 

That makes absolutely no sense. If we find a new species in the ocean it is always going to be found by scientist..We aren't going to send a military sub after it and declare it our slave.

I guess what I really believe though is the whole alien thing is our minds playing tricks on us because we have no natural predators anymore and don't have to worry anymore about getting raped and pillaged by an "alien" tribe. 99% of our time in existence we have had to worry about such things, so some people's minds just make it up and put it in a present day context now even though it probably does not exist.

Foolishness. Every culture in ancient times has left us with compelling architectural stores of the past. Carvings with sacred information about things we could not believe. Statues, stories, carvings, temples of these extraterrestrial visitors and their ships also with an an accurate map of our galaxy! All these different civilizations that are miles even oceans away from each other with the same stories and illustrations of these beings! With people today claiming to have experienced coming into contact with these same beings and having them look exactly as the ancients had said and to deny it would be foolishness!

i think it is HIGHLY likely that there is life in the Universe other than on earth.
i think it is HIGHLY UN-likely that very many advanced or intelligent beings will live at the same time as us.
and it think it's incredibly unlikely that aliens would visit the earth.

 

90% of abductions are made up.
