Even as a Welshman, someone who should be happy with the result, I am gutted by that performance.

the disallowed goal changed what could have been a very different game. It would have been 2 - 2 going into the second half

and England hit the cross bar twice, the reason they lost was because what is usually a very strong back line when to pieces. They came in too deep too often, and left Germany an open field.

This game proved Football players even in the last few years, have become undeservedly big headed and are trying to cash into this celebrity culture, something that Beckham created. They need a kick up the arse, the whole lot of them.

Yeah I understand where your coming from but if England would of beaten Germany Argaytina would of knock them out! and I DONT want Argaytina in the finals but Germany.

And I think England would of gone to pens if that goal was allowed because your right their moral would of been different. Like I said England was all names and no team. There was a poll in England asking if a footballer would rather have a chance at starting line up with the three lions or to own a Ferrari and the polls showed great results for English players to have a Ferrari then a chance at wearing the England jersey.

It shows that most players don't have there hearts in England. If I was Capello I would of throw a half Championship team on that field. They would played with pride and killed them self in the field.

I'm not trying to insult him, I'm reminding him that the Ghana that beat the U.S. is the same Ghana that lost to Germany only by a 0-1 margin.
It goes against the apparent shame we should feel for losing to such a woefully inept team, but in fact, they did much better against a great German team than England did.
    Much better.

your insane to say Ghana is "inept" team.

Its actually the only African team to live to its talents. Even with Muntari riding bench they were beating the USA.

You could never insult me, it's fine. I do think you are a little highly strung, though full of the correct morales

but you have to understand a joke, man. I mean, I am very aware that Ghana have been playing brilliantly. I am more aware that America were fantastic for the majority of the competition and scored some of my favourite goals

AND I will reiterate, i'm not even English. I have no need to want to insult, I just want to tease you all a little bit. I mean, you are all pretty much fine with laughing at the English defeat, are you not?

    ---

Right.. But yeah, I do think you are right, they need players who will play like they have nothing to lose. The England team is full of talent, everyone knows that, but winning or losing they are still going home to a mansion, their trophy wife and a bottle of cristal to wind themselves down :frown:

I mean, they are all getting paid half a million pound soon (million dollars), to appear on a TV show here, which is 5 hours work. That is shit.

Capellio made some pretty awful errors anyways. Heskey when your trailing?? What the hell was the man thinking?

All in all though, i'm supporting an underdog German team to bring home the win. They played some incredibly creative football and I commend them for that, truly great to watch.

    *sigh*
    Your reading comprehension is disappointing.
The "woeful" bit was clearly sarcasm. If I thought they were woeful why would I have brought up their performance against Germany in defense of the U.S. loss?
It was ImaginaryBeing who insinuated that Ghana was an embarrassing team to lose to, an assertion that I was contending.

Either your reading comprehension is equally rubbish, or you did not read my very clear post.

So either stop being a hypocrite, or purposely taking things the wrong way

    Really?

    Let's have another look.

Exactly how else does one interpret that?
I guess you could pretend that you were simply making a statement that had no real meaning at all, but the italics specifying Ghana doesn't really help your case.
Conversely, if you are saying that is how you meant it, but only in jest, I'm aware of that, but my explanation to jmt was about the last post I just quoted you on, not the "hey guys I'm just joking" post you made immediately before mine.

You know, for a guy who insists that everyone else simply relax and not take things so seriously, you sure do spend a lot of your time attempting to come out on top.

I was just explaining to JMT why I responded the way I did.
I don't really believe in "just joking", so sometimes I prefer to break things down.

An American, a Ghanian and a Welshman are invited to a christmas party. The host says to wear something that 'reminds them of christmas'

That evening the door is answered an there's the American wearing a father christmas hat

The Ghanian arrived, and he decided to impressive even further, he came dressed as a reindeer

the Welshman turned up last, wearing a pear of knickers on his head. The host asked, 'are you having a laugh!?'

the Welshman said, 'NOO!! they're Carols'

Yes it could have been 2-2 going into the half. But England played so poorly, that even before the first goal to make it 2-1, it could have easily been 3 or 4 goals for Germany. I mean, Germany just picked apart the British defense at will and had their way with England. Overall, England was just abysmal really.

However, they played pretty solid football for about a 15-20 minute span, but soon after, around the 60-65 minute mark, looked as if they were starting to fade. Germany really dominated overall and in the end, I am surprised it was ONLY 4-1.

Down 2-1, there is no excuse for that third German goal. Dreadful defense on the counter attack. I am not convinced, after this showing, that England would have done anything even if it was 2-2. They were still in the game at 2-1 and failed to do much of anything.
