    if they can use it responsibly, then what's the problem? If they use it iresponsibly, then treat it like other infractions.
    How would you handle a man that was beating his girlfriend? Any different if he's drunk and beating her?
    What if a man is there getting vulgar and yelling at people? Any different if he was drunk?

    I see so many people blaming alcohol or drugs for the problems that they have- these substances aren't bad its the people who take them and where they chose to go with the journey -

    I have worked many 'camps 'spiritual gatherings' where alcohol is not permitted and many festivals free parties where it is and both have community issues and situations that arise thru human nature.
    Like the poster below said, what is the difference if one is drunk or not? if your going off your head, your going off your head!

    Surely rainbow is about encompassing all, even the heroin addicts which really disturbed me one year at a rainbow gathering in the UK -

    I would suggest keeping the camps at a distance apart, but then again this is segregation its a hard one. To be honest to me rainbows arent all about the fluffyness their has always been a dark element from what I remember...
    I understand your concern tho!

    I dunno about you, but I'd rather do the gig in the woods than do it in a park.

    my point is we cant just exist like we do anywhere and really i would say most of us left more than pushed so we find solace back with nature and ourselves so I wish we can realize how dangerous the existence of just one negative stereotype like this can be. we shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves we must be one with ourselves to be truly one with our environment. why cant we all just smoke a bong? luvin u family ill turnip here or there ~-[;

    With community there is conflict- we reach comon ground and find with whom we seek common goals...

    it is a beautiful thing that can take a bit of work and dedication to each other!

    My point is, if they are responsible with the booze/drugs/sex/whatever, who cares? Responsible. I know folks that can't handle their booze. OTOH I have a friend that drinks nothing but beer. He doesn't get drunk, but he is always drinking beer. More than water it seems. He's mellow, laid back, totally cool. What is my point? The point is that to be responsible one must also be able to stay within their own limits.

    If folks want to do the booze, fine. If they want to do drugs, fine. To me, it's completely up to them. If they can pay for it, fine. If they get in trouble with the law because of it, it is up to them to accept the responsibility. Just don't drag anyone else into it and don't hurt anyone. Simple. (IMO)

    "The trick to being a successful drunk is knowing when to go to bed".
    ---Luke, who was a very successful drunk, among other things.
