    Morrow,
I would never want to give a good friend a problem child.

    However,
I would give it to Spiff. He'll fix it, sell it, and make a profit.

And hopefully not have to chew alot of ibuprofen in doing so.

never heard of yard king but google search brings up pictures of murray models with yard king stickers

those ones pop chains when people put the wheel on the outside pin hole allowing the shaft to shift side to side causing the chain to not align with the gear ....if youre lucky it just climbs off....if youre unlucky it breaks a weld and evrything inside bends,,,very hard to get it back in the right spot for re-welding (but it can be done)

that outer axle hole is only for the pin if you want one wheel to freewheel...the left rim should be pinned to the inner hole...or loose on the inner hole.....never pinned to the outer hole

after i fix them i cut the shaft stub off at the outer pin so that the new owner never makes the same mistake

its a murray but one of the real simple ones...not the kind that the weld breaks..that looks like mtd style insides with a murray outside...(happens when companies buy out others and mix products)

it kind of looks like one of the friction wheel washers ...there should be one on each side where it catches into the shift fork

i cant see in picture if yours has the double fork with washers or the single pin type

heres another picture you can see the washers inside the fork

if its not one of those my only other guess would be a wheel shim washer to take up slack and align chains...they go on the axle between the body bushing and the wheel to take up slack..if its one of those it will be 3/4 center...the friction disc ones are probably smaller than 3/4 hole

I'm not actually too bad on the tools. My highschool electives were sport medicine, metal work, electrician and wood works. :p

    In high school?

There's a list of electives and special interest classes. For practical work I chose those classes. For theory work, I studied history ancient history, Britainish, geography and agriculture.

We had a German class but they said I didn't need to do that. :p even though I spoke better Deutsch than the teacher, I should have taught the school. They pushed me to do Indonesian instead. I didn't accept. :p think I went for software design instead.

In the end I really enjoyed sports science and medicine, completed 2 years worth of training in HS the I went to Sydney for the last 2 years to finish that degree off. :)

Sports medicine was a high school class?

I'm guessing that didn't include things like orthopedic surgery?
