my chickens eat bugs too....there is very few crawing bugs anywhere within 100 feet of my house....the chickens spend all day every day weather provided foraging for bugs in the grass....that's why chickens scratch the gras...to make the bugs move so the can eat them

when ever I am chopping wood and I find a big grub I toss it to the birds...they fight over them

Oh it's happening to me now. People I looked up to are now dying. Not a musician or anything, but still.

 

Strange, as you get older, you see it more.
When one goes, before you know it, you lose an entire generation!

Well, how does that make you feel lol? I'd be gutted. I'm already gutted. I don't deserve to die! I'll shoot anybody that tells me otherwise! but as you get closer I mean what is the thought? I'm not actually afraid of dying, I just fear one day, all a sudden, I don't get to open my eyes again and battle through another day. Or maybe that's the saving grace you can throw arms up and say ah well if he takes me now I won't have to battle through another day.

My mum told me once that one of my uncles, his worst fears were based around getting old and dying. I think I have a little of that in my genes.

 

I think everyone has that fear of death, but I think it's more a fear of how it will happen.. not so much when.. I think!
I think I never thought about my own mortality till my parents passed..
I remember as a child, coming in from school to be told an uncle had died, think I was about 6.. I started to cry, and mum says, what you crying for? I say cos you always cry when someone dies, she says best not.. I say ok.. and as a young child in like, yes!! I don't have to see him again.. scary as fuck that man! And didn't like kids!!
So yeah, after grandparents, parents.. it's just another day at the office.. just please never my kids, or grandkids, I couldn't cope!

 

Probably, but all in good time of course. I think it would feel very bad actually to replace him right away.
I have lost dogs before (one also just as suddenly: she went secretly roaming at night and crossed the road at the wrong time. What a miscievous rascal that one was . Btw she also got 8 years. Got her when i was 10). You just have to process it, takes awhile.
I think i would get more emotional if i had a new shepherd pup brought in here now.

 

Whenever we have to put down one of our girls, coming home from the vet is always met with kisses and happiness from our other 3. It helps us get through.

The other girls usually start to mis the other after a week, but after a few days, the girls and us are back to normal.

Pets/animals understand and deal with death probably better than any human could.

 

I watched a show once where a baby lion had its back legs trample by wildebeests.
The club just used its front legs to follow the mom. Then the mom took one last look at her cub struggling behind her, then quickly took off and left her cub to die.

 

I love using these examples when people act like if all beings would be in touch with nature (like they are ) it would mean all harm is absent.
