wait? did I read that right? you don't get breaks? It is not law in Texas to get one? Damn, in Maine it is law that you get a 30 minutes and also 15 minutes break for a 6 hour shift and an extra 15 on top of those two breaks for 7 hours or more. My boss flips if I only take 25 minutes. he tells me, "from now on, take 35" cause I guess the penalty is strict for not taking THIRTY for every 6 hours. Are you sure your manager isn't some corrupt workaholic jipping you out of breaks? It is not law in Texas to get a mandatory break?
in my province were legally givena break not unlike ^^ has buuut you can opt out o fit which is pretty much how my work is set up... you take a break if you need it to eat or whatever but theres always so much to do that everyone manages to feel guilty for not working plus 30min breaks are unpaid... whereas the 15 min ones are and the little 5ish ones we sometmies take are also paid yippee!
we always did the maragarita thing and went back and answered phones drunk with fake accents and names HAHAHA
i think breaks are technically required everywhere. then again, it would be retarded to schedule someone to come in for 30 minutes to watch the place while i'm sitting out back on break, so we don't get actual breaks. of course, working one of my shifts is basically a 7-12 hour break anyway, so i can't complain
i had a manager at my old job (fast food) tell us they're not legally required to give us breaks since the slow times are considered breaks at food places.... but they would give us 15 anyway... hahaha, so many of us worked 10-13 hr shifts too. oh i live in texas
Haha, we have some people at the Queen who seem to be under the impression that their lungs may just explode if they don't run out and inhale some nicotine EVERY SINGLE TIME we're slow. It drives me crazy. Yeah, it's been this way since I started, only smokers really get much of a break, even though some people try to force me out on "a break" that consists of sitting in a hot shed and staring at the cans of hot fudge for as long as I can stand it. So, I correct myself, I can have breaks, they're just not really worth the energy used to walk outside.
very nice. i'm not used to pot at all, it's not a good thing for me. but one time my future sister in law got me totally blazed and i holed up in the stockroom and tried to pretend i wasn't in hell.
