    HI Stormy [IMG]

My ears were burning so I knew someone was talking about me and it's my good friend Stormountainman.

Not really the commune type, but will make an exception for you Stormy..:)

Don't worry Stormy, I only emit noxious gases when in the presence of utter stupidity and moronic logic, that's why Tyrson has never noticed it, but if it always happens when I'm around you, well.....

kinda creeped out to think you dream about me, pleasant dreams....

Hey Everyone, now that Trump and Pence have won the election, the old, the disabled, the poor, the sick, the unemployed, and the homeless among us are about to be kicked out to the curb to freeze and starve to death. The Republicans do not want us to have any government benefits. They want to cut social security and the section eight program. So, hard times are going to come to us. Let's get serious about getting a group of to live together and help each other, so no one goes hungry or cold.

How about going across the border into Baja California? Find something rural, cheap and no zoning.

I'm open to any place as long as it could be sustainable. I know in old Mexico they will not let the Americans own the land. We would have to have a Mexican partner. I saw some very cheap land near Kingman Arizona. How do you feel about the Mojave Desert?

There is much good about Kingman. It is on I-40, the main east to west highway that goes all the way to LA. It is just 35 miles from Laughlin Nevada and only about 3 hours from Las Vegas. It is cheap and good for retired people. Much of Arizona is rock so no water wells unless you are lucky or near town, like say Bullhead City. If you have no water it has to be trucked in. But, everything else is cheap and it is not cold in winter, unless a freak storm. So, if a group of us want to get a small piece of land like 3 or 5 acers it would be easy to do. I used to live in Colorado and that has become very expensive. I would love to do this with a group of good people so we can survive the Trump/Pence nightmare that has invaded our lives.

I would be interested in a garden either community or on my own so water is an issue. It's also something we can haul on our own and cut cost though. IV been googling and not finding anyplace to haul from.

There are a lot of companies (small business) that deliver water there in a big truck. They can deliver something like a thousand gallons at a time. It's not too expensive. In Colorado we used to get water from the fire department for free, when my friend's well ran dry every fall. If you haul your own you need a big plastic tank on the bed of a though old pickup, because water is so heavy. I checked out a house on small acreage near Williams Arizona and it was that way, delivered by truck but not too expensive. In that climate we could grow anything the Navajo Indians grow, which is a lot of veggies. The place gets a lot of sun, so solar power could be a financial blessing there too.

This is an awesome idea....to get enough folks to put their egos aside and take in mother nature, the earth goddess and live in spirit of yesterday. So cool...togetherness for the group, our way of life
despite modern societies idea of control. Give it some thought, some ideas, etc. :guitarist:?

We have been giving it much thought. Several people have indicated their interest. It's a good idea for older Hippies on limited income; and, even more so now that Trump and company want to cut public help programs. I think it is going to take the first 4 people to get together and get a place, or one to buy it and others pay mini amounts for rent. I like the old commune method where everyone gets to vote on all issues pertaining to the family, or tribe, or ...

Come On People Now! Get Together and try to love one another right now! We have to try and put this commune together; if for no other reason, it is because the Trump/Pence government will be cutting most of our benefits...benefits we worked for all our lives. People who are on social security benefits are on very limited income and often get kicked out to the curb if they go to the hospital. A group of us who live together could help care for one another. We could cook together, garden together, sing together, and so on. An adult commune could promote holistic health. The music we listen to would be from our generation. The persons with knowledge of computers, solar power, water filteration, and cars could help put together a truley nice commune.

We need to get as far away from this shit going on as we can get.
We need to figure out how to run the place too.

Hi Snowtigger, What place do you recommend? I seem to remember you said you liked Mexico before. I was just thinking about what type of place six or eight people could afford together. The good thing about Arizona or southwest Colorado is that we could grow food with all that sunshine. Solar systems would work great. There are all types of intentional communities going up in California, Washington, and Oregon. Cost is a problem there. But, I am open to your suggestion.

This is a good idea. This is a real community in my opinion. Where everyone helps one another. Like the rainbow tribe. They love each other and care for one another. That's the type of community I'm looking for.

Welcome to the dialog Mizzy. I started this in 2013 to bring together older hippies who might be living on limited income and who would welcome life in an intentional community of like minded people. I didn't have specific age limits on it. I was more interested in living close to the earth and bringing people who want to live together and keep costs down. So if we develop our own solar power and wind power we could pay a lot less than what the "Grid" wants to fleece off of us. If we have people with special know how like auto mechanics, plumbing, or computer repair that would be great, since the folks living there wouldn't need to go to town and pay out the wazzoo. If we develop our own half acer of veggies, we could eat well. If we make our own music together, we could grow together. I've have some show interest in doing this in Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, and Mexico. So, tell us about your favorite place!

Hi Logan, I still want to do it. If we get a small chunk of land, we could get used building materials and supplies from Habitat for Humanity and recycling centers. In Colorado Habitat has windows and doors and bath fixtures and so on. We can do this!

I don't know.. I look at all the shit going on at Berkeley and now white supremacist posters started showing up in Fargo this week.. I don't see this ending well.
The not so hot part of the desert that has a good supply of water and growable land. Someplace the corporatists wouldn't want for themselves so we would be left alone. Must have access to supplies and health care too.

There is cheap trailers right now on North Dakota Craigslist.I think they are man camp trailers as they have bunks in them. The bunks look homebuilt. They could be torn out and the insides fixed up to suit.
