its not about obama, or that boner where his head should be. its about a small faction that wishes to resurrect 'divine right', and force everyone else to worship them, throwing a tantrum, because not everyone is gullible enough to worship money.
Because the problems this shutdown are symptomatic of, extend well beyond your borders. Since you appear incapable of thinking beyond your own borders, I will illustrate how the situation in the US affects everyone else: The US dollar acts as a global currency, and in fact many other nations use it as a primary currency. When (not if) the world loses faith in the dollar as a result of the absolute ridiculousness going on its native country, the global economy will be fucked. That's why Russia and China, for example, are now buying oil in their own currencies. They are positioning themselves militarily and economically based on the inevitable fall of the American Empire. There will be a shift in power, but the overall broken mentality will be the same. What so few people seem to understand is that you can't fix a broken system by operating within that system's parameters. We need to think outside of the box and create a new system that isn't inherently flawed. But the people with the most influence are incredibly invested in this broken system, and so they will never want to change anything. They arrogantly believe that with their wealth and power they will be just fine when the rest of the world has gone to shit. So here we are, headed for inevitable economical collapse, destroying our environment and going to any length to earn a buck, and most of us only worry about what's right in front of us or something ridiculous like the latest celebrity gossip or political powerplays.
Perhaps post information that he is leaving out or/and you think will help others understand. Personally, it feels like just another conspiracy theory - repacked. 'I don't see how so many people can follow current events and take what's presented to them at face value. ' 'I don't follow ANY news source these days, including alternative and conspiratorial ones, because they're mostly all full of shit, too.' So, what IS he basing his opinions on other than just repackaging the old: 'None of this is real' shpeel ? By saying: ' I don't really care about convincing people of anything.' ... ...it seems to absolve him from providing anything of any real substance, doesn't it? You've basically said: 'Hang on a minute'... heard a flimsy excuse... ...and said: 'Ok, fair enough'. Perhaps you feel the same way as, Meliai That it's not some grand conspiracy it's just old fashioned 'political posturing'. I might be wrong but you both (you and him) seem to be saying that none of this is real. I'm not sure - perhaps just expand upon what you have said already. He'll probably tell me I think the government is looking after me and e...yeah, you know the drill.
Isolate. America's only answer. Seal the borders. Selective acceptance of immigrants. Possibly a $50k "cover charge" ; no foreign involvement what-so-ever. A self contained , self supporting nation. Social services ONLY extended to the citizenry. Illegals deported. The basis of the NWO global one world thought is to diminish American life while gifting 3rd world slacker nations. Won't work. Think local , act local.
RIPTIDE59 What about imports and exports? Are you keeping everything 'Made in America'? ...good luck with that.
Which 3rd world slacker nations did you think of when you made that post, by the way? Most 3rd world countries partly got this '3rd world' status because of 1st world political and economical games that caused these countries to get robbed from their raw resources which is a major cause for their lack of development instead of a 'slacker mentality'.
Once again , what does the critique of non-citizens matter? We are a soverign nation as you are as well. Let's keep it that way.
Here is a pro and con source about isolationism verses interventionism. It addresses five points made by isolationists: 1. Pro isolation. Foreign policy is always either immoral or doomed to failure. Pro intervention. Missile defense is a perfect example of a system which is strengthened by international cooperation (such as the current US plans to place radar stations in Europe). 2. Pro isolation. The primary responsibility of a state is to its own people. Pro intervention. If the US really did just focus on its own soil this would certainly demand that it gave up many of its foreign resources and business interests, which would hardly help support the ‘American way of life’. 3. Pro isolation. If the US stopped getting into conflicts abroad, it could put more emphasis on its own defense. Pro intervention. There are still many global issues (including terrorism) which cannot be prevented even with huge armies or forces. 4. Pro isolation. The problems in Afghanistan show exactly why the US should not get involved in foreign affairs. Pro intervention. It is unrealistic to say that the US could just stop intervening abroad. 5. Pro isolation. The US is the world's only remaining 'superpower'. It is not just more powerful than other nations, but is in a class all of its own. Pro intervention. The US may well have very large and advanced armed forces, but this does not mean it has the power to do anything it wants.
Have you read the complete text at the source I cited? Maybe you would like to expand on your opinion for each listed point. For example, are you suggesting, as is pointed out in the first example, that we have no foreign policy what so ever? In other words do we withdraw all of our ambassadors and not have any type of exchange with other countries at all?
Correct. I'm thinking the only excception might be items for FAIR trade. Very limited. I agree , as well, I'm not really impressed with mass merchandising "junk" like McDons to foreigners. Re: Wars. Just imagine how many American lives could have been saved if we just would have stayed home. One half of your federal tax dollar is spent overseas. With the current stream of events , is that a good idea? Nope just a bad deal all the way around.
on a fun note, not everyone thinks the government needs to take care of them. This guy is awesome. He decided to mow the lawn of the Lincoln Memorial. http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthis/there-is-some-random-guy-mowing-the-lawn-of-the-lincoln-memo
On a more serious note, almost half the individuals currently receiving food stamps are under 16, too young to legally have a job. Do the Tea Party conservatives classify them as lazy deadbeats? If a three year old was willing and able to go out and try to get an illegal job, who would hire him? What work could he do? Maybe his hunger is his own fault because he didn't do a good job of picking out his parents. Go cold-turkey on oil imports? That would be interesting.
So you would withdraw all ambassadors from every country and still expect to have fair trade policies with them. You also don't like certain private businesses, such as McDonald's, operating in foreign countries (or are at least unimpressed). Since you are also opposed to the regulation and or intervention of government in regards to private industry, ie open market free trade, how or who would determine what is fair trade with which countries? Who would negotiate tariffs, or would all domestic tariffs on imports be eliminated and the U.S. would still be subject to foreign tariffs? We would have no contact with foreign nations so we would not be able to negotiate over tariffs, placing us at the mercy of every other country in regards to our exports. Or do we stop all of our exports? Certainly we have become involved in some very stupid military actions, such as the undeclared war on Iraq. We have not been involved in any declared war since World War II. In the case of World War II a very strong argument can be made that if the U.S. had intervened when Germany took Austria and the Sudetenland, when Italy invaded Albania, and or when Japan attacked China, millions of lives could have been saved. (About 60 million). In the U.S. 405,399 deaths. But of course we were isolationist then and look how well that worked out. Do you have a source for your statement about the amount of federal tax dollars spent overseas? If not I will disregard it. Care to take on the next point, or continue with this one?
   Hmm, I think over a billion Europeans, Chinese and Russians might be amused by that one. American trailer parks, tent cities, Harvard graduates flipping burgers, derelict cities, near national bankruptcy, disastrous military efforts. I could go on. It was exactly the delusional sense of self importance that got America so disliked and in the mess it is today. Something rather apt about a country that spent 10 years blowing up other people's countries, suddenly finding it cant perform its own basic services. Ironically tho, it isnt the war criminals suffering, but those who were the most against it... Whatever, I'm glad I dont live there. And I nearly emigrated there once..
