ditto, it is a bloody shame and what's worst is that seems just like no one cares, except for a minority of radicals no one thinks there is something wrong here, not to mention Berlusconi's worshippers who think it is the greatest moment in the Italian history since Mussolini (...) i am starting to grow racist in my peculiar way against my very fellows countrymen. Our slogan is "No, don't even think about it or we are going to send the riot squad". the stupid thing of the week is that berlusconi, called the psycho-dwarf here, appeared and was photographed at the birthday party of some obscure 18 years old girl near naples, Naomi Letizia, who calls him dad and assures that her dad is going to give her a nice seat in the parliament (since his last electoral law called "the pig-pen law" by the one who wrote it, the anti-moslems Calderoli, we cannot choose our representative any longer, only cast a vote for a coalition so parties are free to candidate whoever they like). berluska's wife said he is just an old ill man and asked for divorce. he lied about the reason that brought him there and then claimed that he is a victim of the media (again:...) at least it is an amusing gossip-laden personal dictatorship. if one thinks about all the troubles that Clinton had to face for a blowjob and a little lie it is obvious that being in charge here is wAAy more easy and telling the nation the truth is not mandatory nor recommended because it is commonly accepted that every politician lies all the time, and after all that's his job. only think that the jerk has said he wants to rewrite our constitution (and chances are that he will succeed) ... it will be like having a theft alarm installed in your home by a gang of burglars, but who cares, until the TV shows keep being so amusing and vulgar ? truly happened in the last campaign, in a TV debate: young woman asking berlusconi: mr. Berlusconi, i have only a temporary job, like many others, what can I do to afford a family and make one son ? mr. Berlusconi: as a father i sincerely suggest you to marry some millionaire, try with Berlusconi's son, you're quite pretty. after this show berlusconi gained a spectacular electoral victory. ...OK, sorry for the long OT-delirium but at least now you know why i started reading this thread.
I find it both typical and suprising that the majority of Italy puts up with their current political situation. I mean, I think many other people think the same about politicians (they all lie, we can't change a thing, it's all the same etc.) and I think many politicians from all countries are or cunning rats or dumbed down by the systems ways and used to it's advantages(england's recent discovery about their tax being used for private stuff) but Berlusconi is acting so openly and bizarre it would be very interesting to see how people here and in other countries would react in this situation. I'd like to think they get riled up much heavier here in the Netherlands but again I wouldn't be really suprised if everyone would behave like they think it's just something you have to live with.
the worst thing is that the so-called "left" did its best to show lack of common political views, ineptitude and fraudolence, but also a deep love for the Association of Industry and the catholic church. worser, they seem unable to oppose themselves to the rampage of Berlusconi to the point that they look even unwilling for some reason to do so. They also advocated and obtained the exit from the parliament of the most radical parties, like the communists and the 'green' environmentalists, who have always been the most fierce enemies of the dwarf. Maybe the reason is the high consumption of drugs done in the parliament. listen this is really funny: time ago a TV show sent a bunch of dudes who pretended to interview all the deputies and senators, but in fact they were doing them a contact drug test . it came out that about one third of them was positive to some drugs, mostly cannabis and cocaine. if you are curious, right wing politicians were more fond of coke, while lefties privileged the herb of peace. when talking about stereotypes. the public of common citizens asked for a public drug test for every representative, but almost everyone of them openly and shamelessly refused, said it was a scandal that someone dared to make them an occult test, and menaced severe punishments if the names of the junky politicians were revealed. two months ago one of their collaborators, Simona Patrignani of the racist force "Lega Nord" was arrested in switzerland with 8 kg of pure cocaine hidden between slices of meat (running a few errands i suppose) and was charged of international traffic of narcotics, but no newspaper or Tv news show ever mentioned the fact. you can find the story on swiss web sites. isn't all this a real riot of fun ?
It sounds like Berlusconi is only the top of the iceberg indeed. But yeah, however it is hard to change a system that has grown like this (if you list all this bogus we'd say it just screams for opposition) can we really say it's only the parlements fault? I mean the people got all riled up in the UK and there has been some consequences. Of course it was about tax money (if abused money doesn't get them off their couches what will huh ) but I have the feeling among all italian political issues the tax money isn't perfectly spend either..
yep it started looking like that. berlusconi only represents the ultimate escalation of corruption. remember, we are ruled by some of the WORLD'S strongest criminal associations, like Cosa Nostra, 'Ndrangheta, the camorra, Stidda, Sacra Corona Unita, the roman Catholic Church etc. about the vanishing of public money the thing here has gone so far that each day a tv show exhibits some giant construction -say an hospital, a sport center, a school, an highway, i mean large structures that cost millions of € - never completed, or finished and abandoned to the looters, because after some point the self calling authorities could not steal any longer on them so they were built at our expense and then left to waste and rot without having been used a single day. and we have literally, literally, LITERALLY heard and seen that HUNDREDS OF TIMES. the examples of our tax money going directly in the pockets of obvious gangsters or respectable thieves are so common and various that they make absolutely no news at all. italy is a communication lab. we are the guinea pigs. don't think that this can only possibly apply to Italy. remember, fascism was born here but then it spread in the world. also, what is happening today here may tomorrow happen in your country so don't think this is just an italian weirdness. some kind of castrated information, i mean tamed information that never comes to conclusions, in the end instead of causing a violent but healing reaction, induces "tolerance" in the public opinion, just like junkies that have to take always more smack to reach the same effect, to the point that nothing makes the least effect any longer. the only stimulus you get is making use of more powerful narcotics to ignore the filth, lol. looking at what happened in Argentina , it seems that when one people gets beaten hard every day , when one nation does not see any way out for a long time, in the end it becomes utterly passive and from that point on it will wake up maybe only if a general immediate threat of life occurs, nothing less than this. without fear of exaggerating, we are passively watching the last episodes of the dismantlement of our nation's richness and pride , and the degradation of our people , in total impotence. sometimes you just feel like grabbing the guns and assaulting the prefectures, but shit, that cute tv show is just about to start... back to topic ! another radical idea for a revolution is vandalizing and destroying the media infrastuctures like signal repeaters and antennas, and building mobile broadcasting tv stations to obscure in at least a couple of blocks the state tv in favor of autoproduced transmission inciting to civil disobedience. may sound silly in the era of youtube but this is like poking a finger in the Man's eye. but beware, this is extremely risky and the reaction will be surely furious. ah i just forgot, a law that will force internet providers in Italy to cancel messages and posts not approved by the police (police i mean , not judges. i said police), and ban users who advocate for rebellion is on his troubled way. in this way they manage to cancel the exterior signs of dissent. maybe in the end they won't dare to go so far but if one day my posts stop appearing, google around for political news from italy and you'll find the reason :-X
