I just want my rants about how this world is turning to greed and capitalism to be heard! I remember when I was a child and my grandparents would tell me all their stories about growing up, and realizing that family used to be first, then money came into play and I guess material possessions are more important than family, even families nowadays are competing against other families! It's bullshit, and we must transcend this bullshit and get to where we once were, where wealth was defined by how your families got along, and the ability to communicate with fellow human beings, now-a-days wealth is how much money you got, and how much you can spoil your softhead of a daughter and your cheating wife. This world is falling apart! And all anybody wants to do about it is sit back and make more money!!

i'm all in for some positive change and yes, we need alot of it, but we all need to look through the looks and tastes of others. it won't be the 'hippie revival' that's gonna bring thís positive change, just society when it wakes up

You know, people like us should be out there making a difference.

Its a good idea but where do we start. Marches work only with hordes of people. I think we need to open plastic americas eyes up to the reality of the matter. If we all put aside our differences and show them another way rather than tell, maybe they will understand. Spread and teach the word and the trains will multiply!

 

Pop culture and hip hop are tightly connected and stress the music industries standards. But you have to account that the people that run the show are entertainers and thats all they are. If you want to see something personal from it then you would have to dig deeper into the PIG WORLD. Ill give you my very own fine example.

So you have to take in account that its a big circus and there are many clowns in it. If you dont lke the circus find a new one. But in the End its still a circus. You just have to enjoy it. If you dont like it make fun of it..

 

First of all, what the fuck is "the revolution?"

"Everyone's talkin' 'bout revolution," but what the fuck does it mean? I feel really disillusioned with hippies and the like. We can't get a revolution by sitting around, smoking pot, and flashing peace signs at people. We have to get out and ORGANIZE.

Say what you want about a revolution "starting from within," but if staying within is all you do, then you won't do anything for anyone but yourself.

i don't think you should organize a hippie movement, being a hippie only means you just live by a certain standard of norms and values defined as 'hippie' by babylon, since the term hippie is actually first used by the media and not the hippie themselves. they used other terms to refer to themselves like 'freak'.
no big organizations of hippies for me plz. no we need to do this or we need to do that 'let's start a revolution' or 'let's open up people's eyes' and certainly no 'lets make babylon fall' cuz there are just a few people inw estern society that can live without it.
all those people in this thread have one thing in common, which is that the revolution they are talking about already started from within, they are thinking about what to do with the world and how to make it a better place. you don't need no marches to really re shape society, its not gonna work to change the structures of society, which is what we really need. just follow your bliss, just refuse to spent your life on some kind of useless job that will keep you from loving your life and show some love to the world. if you want to change the world you need to work, not to protest.
our strength is not in organization in the sense of a revolution people are talking about, just follow your bliss and your unique way of life will be a blessing to the world

What I mean by "organize" isn't "organize a group of hippies." I mean it in the sense of building a movement to change things. For example, getting together a group of people who are opposed to the war and actually DOING something.

"Following my bliss" may make ME happy, but it won't do jack shit for the people who are dying all around the world -- in Iraq, Afghanistan, and here in the USA. I can go around all day saying "I love you, man!" to everyone I meet, and it won't bring about world peace or any kind of systematic change. It'll just make everyone think I'm either a stoner or someone who's still living in the '60s.

I don't want to "make babylon fall" in the sense that I want us all to become anarcho-primitivists. I want to "make babylon fall" in the sense that I want to put an end to the system that makes profit off of war and exploitation, the sytem that oppresses women, people of colour, youths, the elderly, queer folks, and the poor and working classes. I can't do any of that by "following my bliss." Ignoring the system won't make it go away.

Besides that, there are some people who don't have the privilege to ignore the system like I do as a white, middle class person. A Black person, for example, smoking pot, dumpster diving, and "living outside of the sytem" would be harassed by the police much more often than I would be, and they would end up in jail for much longer than I would. Why? Because that's how the system works. And "following my bliss" won't do anything to change that.

 

Show people there is another way. The cattle will stay but the freewilled will walk. The only way to change the system is to show people another better system. People are selfish, use it as a tool.

 

What "dancing bear92" stated in his LAST POST is "BRILLIANT" and "ILLUMINATING"!!! I've been trying to get people to come to THIS REALIZATION (FOR YEARS)!!! What GOOD is all of your "PROTESTING" and "BOYCOTTING", about a "BAD" and "BROKEN" SYSTEM, if you don't OFFER a "VIABLE", "BETTER" and "WORKABLE" ALTERNATIVE???
