I have been thinking about my choices and I think the book and movie portions are something I can do better with... Book: Illusions; the adventures of a reluctant messiah. By Richard Bach. Life changing book, has the mystical quality of coming into your life at the exact moment you need it. Movie: Three Amigos. Damn, that shit is funny.
Book- Probably the "tomorrow when the war began" series by John Marsdeb About a bunch of teenagers fighting thier own demons whilest tying to stay alive in Australia when it has been invaded by a foreign millitary power hell bent on controlling Australia Song- "Would?" by Alice in chains Movie- Wouldnt be able to choose a favourite, but i love documentaries, especially on heavy metal and history
I thought that whole film was basically just an excuse to depict kids getting shot every 30 fucking seconds, and thus ensure it's critical acclaim by having subtitles and a "gritty realism"
Book - Chopper - You may of seen the movie but this alot better in my eyes, tales from a australian criminal Film - The Wackness - I was going to put into the wild but it had allready been mentioned, the wackness is about the life of young man who deals green. Song - John Butler Trio - Ocean - If you haven't heard this track then check it out. It is an acoustic instrumental piece from a australian artist, I'm yet to see anyone put as much emotion into music as much as this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VAkOhXIsI0
book: "Summer of Love" by Lisa Mason. Sci-Fi book about a guy named Chiron Cat's Eye in Draco who traves from the future (2567 i think. i have read the book 5 times but i always forget! lol!) to 1967 San Francisco during the Summer of Love. He needs to restore order to the time time. As each chapter progresses the book is told from 3 characters' pov. Chiron, Susan aka Starbright and Ruby. This is an awesome book if you love the 1960's or not. (I feel like I'm on reading rainbow) movie: "Religulous." This is a documentary/comedy satirising religion and belief. Stars Bill Maher. Song: I have too many damn favourite songs. So I will say "What's Up People?" by Maximum the Hormone. They are a heavy metal Japanese band. I do not understand the lyrics but it is still a pretty good song.
Book: The Mists of Avalon; the story of Arthur & Camelot told from a pagan, female perspective. It is my favourite rendition of this legend. Movie: Monster; based on a true story about a highway prostitute who finds love and will kill to protect it. Song: Tight Like That by Clutch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKWEPs-5M1M&feature=related "Don't try to sell me your New Age guru troubles. 'Cause I'm already reeling doing that good time gospel shuffle. And all your thumpings about some Armageddon, Ain't no big deal, 'cause I already hang with Him."
Book- Journey to Ixlan by carlos castenada, why is it so good, well read it and find out because im not a book critick just a fellow reader. Movie-Apocalypto, its just a grat goddamn movie Song- Anything by Adam Shaikh, Sphongle, Infected Mushroom or Wizzy Noise will suffice, really how can you have a favorite song in a world thats so musicaly inclined, i like it all man.
Thats my favorite movie too, I couldnt believe how many people decided they didnt like it because it had subtitles....ridiculous
I dont like apocalypto cause its an insult to prehispanic cultures, but I know its a movie, so what I dont like is not the movie but the people who actually think prehispanic cultures were like that
a book- siddartha a movie- trainspotting a song- there for you by damien marley not favorites, don't really have favorite. but all worth experiencing.
mostly I dislike that it shows cultures like savages, for example sacrificing people to the gods, while it did happen it was a great honor in the game of ball the winners would win the priviledge to be sacrificed, prehispanic southamerican cultures are one we can take the most of, not bloodthirsty savages
