Living in Los Angeles, I'm unfortunately quite far from you, otherwise I would love to join. I don't know if I'dhave the means to travel that far (but if I could find someone who does and who would also like to join, then I would love to do travel to your commune with that person). City life, while it does have its perks, overall is definitely not for me. I would much rather work at a peaceful place like your commune and feel like a useful part of a community than deal with the craziness, commercialism, and lack of nature that city life has.

I don't have money I could contribute, and I don't know if I have any particular skills that would be relevant to living in a commune, but I work hard and am a fairly quick learner. I'm an easygoing guy who wouldn't cause trouble with anyone. If it means I'll get to permanently join and live in a commune like yours, I will try to find a way to make it over as soon as I can.

My email is takeonme86@ymail.com if you have any details for joining you can give me, which would be greatly appreciated!

I am absolutely interested. Im originally from VA, so this sounds beautiful. I am aching to learn about sustainable living, ecology, organic farming, and building my own cabin, making own crafts, etc... I am vegetarian so I would love to learn to grow my own veggies. I have been a modern-day hobo for years so I have been traveling the USA- so Ive been camping most of my life... just would like to find a likeminded community of people looking to be self-sufficient... Please contact me if this is still an option :) Thanks!!! ~ Meg!

Hi there, I am a 24 yo male living in SE Virginia and am extremely interested in this. I am currently working my way to being able to live off the grid, or at least mostly. The situation you've described is ideal for me.

I would be absolutely delighted to give you more information, and get more info from you. I can be reached at likebadmath@gmail.com

Can I come join right now? I want to live primitive and this looks like exactly what I need. I have an amazing work ethic and have a lot of skills that would be beneficial to the group. should I just drive there?

:sunny:My name is Jake, I live in Brooklyn NY, I am a student at Rochester Institute of Technology studying Mechanical Engineering. I am now on leave of absence and taking next year off to join Americorps NCCC. I left college because I realized it wasn't for me (at least not at this point in my life) and in the free time I have now that I'm back home, I've come to realize I don't want to live in a world where monetary gain is what values success, and I want to live somewhere where the entire community lives for the community. When talking to a couple people about this, it was mentioned (somewhat jokingly) that I want to join a hippy commune, and from the research I did, it seems true. You're community seems amazing, and it seems likely that my life will be heading in a direction towards joining a Commune.
Because I'm 18, I haven't had a chance to master skills, but I am a very good Kinesthetic Learner (I learn from watching someone do something, I'm good handling things and figuring out how they work), My father is a carpenter, and my mother a pattern-maker, and I learned the basics of wood working and sewing from them. I would be willing to do any job to better the community, and becoming self sufficient is exactly what I'm looking for.

Skooky, I believe Sam's Email has been dropped a few times in this thread, I'm not quite sure. We only keep in touch via facebook anymore if at all.

I am 27, over the years I have learned many things. I have live in a community before when I was a child, and out of everything I miss it the most. I have tried for many years in the world to find people who want to work together and be together at the same time. One thing or another people rarely have time for anything outside their everyday lives. I know I belong somewhere in some community and I hope you send me an email soon. I can bring a couple hundred dollars with me probably, but really I am looking to start over. I am willing to perform any tasks, and boy have I in the past to keep the peace with people lol. I just love helping and I kow what my heart is missing, people like me, so hit me up and lets do business. O yea i did get a degree in busine, not that it has helped in any way so far, take care, Clint. My email is Clint8403@yahoo.com

You said it brother. I feel the same way.
There are so many communities out there, but this is one of the best I have seen so far. I want to visit soon. I need to contact Sam. I talked to Fritz about it a little. He's not there anymore, though.

Just wanted to see you you're still open to new people joining you commune and what the situation is like there, seeing as it's been 5 years since your post about it?
