"Place: Ronnie Scott's Club, 47 Frith Street, London W1, England Date: September 16, 1970 Jimi Hendrix's last ever live performance. Hendrix went to see his good friend Eric Burdon's new band WAR one night and was invited on stage to play guest guitar, he was dead less than 72 hours later." Eric Burdon and War - Tobacco Road I included it here because, though it was 9 months into "the seventies", one may say that it signifies the close of the sixties, with Hendrix' passing. As you may notice, it has that small club groove, complete with the poor sound quality, due to what must have been a recording made by a guest, otherwise known as a "bootleg". But no denyin' it, they were fixed firmly in the groove. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5dxGuNghz4 Couldn't pass up the star quality of this bunch: Hendrix, surrounded by Eric Burdon, John Mayall, Steve Winwood, and someone else I couldn't make out:

Well, at the moment, I can't think of SIXTY songs off the bat... But the song that's been playing in my head for the last couple hours is actually a tune my friend wrote. I don't even know what the song is called, or if she's even named it yet, but I just know it's really cool. Alright alright, I know the majority would rather read about a song they actually know... As a matter of fact, I was with my buddy earlier and he began playing "Red House" by Jimi Hendrix and asked me to sing to it. So I did, it was fun, and therefore it must be one of the 60 "songs of the moment". ;-)
